So I think this was my least favorite episode so far. I'm sorry.
We get the aftermath of Miss Jenn and robotics teacher letting the fire spread. It took out the entire theatre and ruined a bunch of the props and costumes. They brainstorm other places to hold the show and Carlos comes up with a nearby theatre that his uncle owns (?). Miss Jenn does not seem happy about this, but she pretends to be excited for the kids.
They pack up what they can and head over. Nothing works, everything is a mess, Miss Jenn is a nervous wreck. She ends up banishing Nini and Ricky to a contained area to practice, while everyone else just to salvage what they can of the theatre.
Everyone is concerned for Miss Jenn. But she powers through the best she can. the lights don't work, Kourtney blows out the audio system with her powerhouse of a voice, E.J. traumatized by Jenn's notes of him, does the oddest rendition of Troy, just no one is having a good time.
Eventually, Jenn calls for a time out. Ashlyn goes to talk to her and we find out that this is the theatre where she found out her line was cut out of the original HSM movie. Ashlyn tries to tell her all the kids believe in her, but ultimately, gives Jenn her crystals and tells her to let them fix her. (This is not sarcastic- I was big into crystals for a while. I mostly just thought they were pretty, but hey, I'm not about to tempt the universe). Jenn, wandering around with them, gets surprised by a mannequin, and knocks herself out.
She ends up have a coma dream of one of the guys (I assume) from the original movie about what a great teacher she is. Carlos ends up slapping her awake and she realizes they need to move back to the school. Sure. Why not.
While all this is going on, Nini and Ricky are secluded in the room. And they end up sort of finding themselves again. Their chemistry is back and they are busy singing and reconnecting. They are just about to kiss, with Red Head walks in on them. They burst apart and leave the room. I think I was into this. But, we did get that text from Gina (who wasn't in this episode) about how she's planning to leave a day earlier than scheduled). Is this going to be a Ricky/Nini/Gina love triangle? And we find out that Nini's name is Nina! Which is a name I happen to love. But her getting her name because Ricky couldn't say Nina, was equally as delightful.
Oh, and earlier, Nini mentions to Kourtney that she was thinking about applying to a performing arts school, and it seems to crush Kourtney. But, by the end of the episode, she decides that Nini should have everything she wants and it looks like she's going to figure out how to apply for Nini on her behalf.
