Becoming a Progressive/Alternative Mortician!
Added 2016-07-15 21:32:56 +0000 UTCThis is one of the most asked questions I get here at the ol' mortician show, "How do I become an alternative mortician?" As it turns out, the answer isn't so simple– yet. Perhaps one day it will be, but for now, everything is made up and the points don't matter. But- that also means we have so much power to shape everything that happens and how the industry changes in the next 10-20 years.
If it sounds like I'm rambling, well, I did have sinus surgery a few days ago and am probably pretty loopy still. It feels like I have a porcupine shoved up my nose. But all in the quest for better breathing!

Question! My co-worker's 15 year old daughter has expressed an interest in the deathly arts. And they asked me about it (hooray!). She hasn't made any certain decisions, but discussions of forensic science, mortuary science, and M.E. / coroner's office work came up as possibilities. I want to support her deathling interests without freaking her out. Any resources that anyone can think of would be appreciated.
