Added 2016-03-16 20:04:41 +0000 UTCWhen someone told me about dead whale carcassses being used to cure rheumatism my response was "noooooo eeewwww." But then, you know what, HISTORY IS SO WEIRD. The more something sounds totally bonkers, the more it probably happened.
And what do you know, we found all kinds of sources for this once popular "whale cure." Happy to share this completely bizarre piece of knowledge with you. Try it on your friends! It's great at cocktail parties!

Decomposing Whale Wednesday...LOL! Perhaps it's a good thing it just happens to coincide with "Wine Wednesday", "Whisky Wednesday", and the like. Loved this morbid minute!

2016-03-17 15:00:08 +0000 UTCAwesome video!! I "like" that in Victorian England they used to put the dry ashy parts of mummies into their tea because they thought it had curative aspects. And just to heighten your whale fear they used to live on land and for a while were a sort of mix between a seal and and wolf. There are fossils in Africa so they could, evolutionally speaking, rise up from the sea, after a couple hundred years of evolution. And orca whales are extremely intelligent, have there own unique languages, and can coordinate hunting. I know a lot of random things.....
