Sons of Anarchy 5X6: Small World

Dude. This episode was wild. So much happened that I didn't expect. Also, of course this is all lead by Clay. How was I so stupid? Also, did Unser just figure out that Gemma's been stringing him along? I was so sure he knew, but was dealing with it because it was the best he could get from her.

So, Rita ends up dying, and Eli is losing his mind (which is to be expected). He did manage to get some DNA from under her nails, so we're waiting for that to be analyzed. But, he's sure that this is somehow related to SAMCRO. Jax asks Pope about it, and he swears it's not him. But suggests, maybe it's closer to home. Later, in a fit of rage, Eli tries to run SAMCRO off the road and ends up with Bobby in a ditch. He's fine, but Eli is out for blood. And to destroy the club.

While Jax meets with Pope, he asks if he wants to run double the amount of coke, and they'll make an extra 150k per shipment. Plus, Jax will get 2% off the top for himself. This annoyed me so much. We spend so much time trying to keep the drugs out of Charming, and now we're digging ourselves an even better hole. At least the club sort of knows it's a bad idea, and the vote just barely passes. But still.

Pope also helps Jax get the address of one of the guards who set up the Opie situation at the prison. Jax, Bobby, Tig, and Chibs head over to the house hell bent on revenge. Turns out, the wife is actually home (she's not supposed to be), and ends up shooting at them. So, we've got her tied to a chair and guard guy tied up kneeling on the floor. The wife pisses off Tig, so he kills her. Then Jax has the guard beg him, then he beats him to death anyway with a snow globe. It's actually pretty entertaining.

While all this is going on, Gemma gets out of the shower to find Carla at her table with a gun. She forces Gemma to the bedroom at gunpoint and then calls Nero to come over. Once he's there, she makes them strip and get in bed. Then she tells Gemma to blow him. She agrees, but ends up crying so hard, that Nero refuses to continue and basically (I think) tells her if she's gonna shoot him, just shoot him. Eventually, she tells him she just wanted to see him in his element before she dies. And then shoots herself in the fucking head. Where the hell did this come from? I know, I know not taking her meds, but without knowing that info beforehand, this just seems so random.

And Tara gets into the prison so she can talk to Otto, who wants absolutely nothing to do with the club. Tara tells him that if he retracts his statement, she can get the club to do pretty much whether he wants. And what does he want? For Tara to blow him (a lot of that going around this episode). She refuses and he tells her he doesn't want to see her again. But, when Jax asks her how the visit went, she claims she didn't get to see him, and will go back the following week. Curious.

Finally, there's Clay. Apparently, his health is just fine. He's putting on this show for everyone like he's not doing well. I assume so he doesn't look like a threat, but to what endgame? And at the end of the episode, he bursts into the house where some of the nomad patchers are are. They immediately start to apologize, and Clay hits the one screaming, 'You weren't supposed to kill her!' Of course Clay is behind the home invasions. Of course he is. But again, why? What is the end game here? Does he just want to sow discord? Have a plausible excuse for his safe to go missing?

Oh, and Unser finally letting Gemma have it was pretty cathartic. Although, he was telling her this like it was new information, and I thought he knew it already. I guess seeing her with Nero just pushed him over the edge.
