Good lord. What is happening in this episode? We've got assault, statutory rape, undocumented persons, a teenage runaway, and probably a bunch of other stuff that slipped through the cracks because, well, see previous.
Mariana doesn't seem to get any backlash about coming home drunk last night. Not that that stops Brandon from being cold to Callie about it. I really didn't think he was upset about that. I thought he was upset because she was still seeing Wyatt. Either way, once she explains, he seems much less upset, but she seems more. Which is understandable. I'm sure Callie is used to being blamed for shit that's not her fault. She's an easy and convenient scapegoat.
I guess Wyatt said something to Liam online, and Liam lost his damn mind, showed up at school (in broad daylight) and started screaming at her and threatening her. He again, tells her to stop talking to Sarah. Thankfully, Wyatt shows up and pulls him off her, but then the two of them get in a fight. And then Brandon shows up to pull Wyatt off Liam. Then, once Liam has left, Callie is upset with Wyatt because she asked him to leave the whole thing alone, but he's just made it worse. He gets pissed and leaves. Come on Wyatt. This is not about you. I don't need your feelings hurt right now.
Brandon walks Callie home and she tells him a bit about her time when she lived with Liam. She's not super specific, but does say that they'd gotten close. Brandon is appalled because Liam is an adult and Callie was (and still is) a child. He asks why she don't talk to her social worker, but then her name would be in the reports and she'd be classified a sexual deviant, and no one would foster her. It's such a shitty fucking situation.
She decides to try one more time to talk to Sarah, but since she won't listen to her, Callie chooses to participate in group, but mostly talks directly to Sarah, making her understand that while Liam is making her feel special, it's all a ruse and he treated her the same way. Sarah runs out upset. Callie chases her, but she still refuses to talk to her. This is when Callie tells Brandon the actual truth, that Liam raped her, and she felt like it was her fault. She doesn't anymore, but she doesn't want the same thing to happen to Sarah. It seems like Brandon convinced her to talk to his moms because at the end of the episode, she's laying out the whole story again.
While all this is going on, Lexi's parents have pulled her out of school and are planning to send her to boarding school in Texas. What? I'm sorry. You'd rather lock your daughter away and never see her rather than teach her about safe sex? WTF. Regardless, Lexi is so not on board with this (duh), and runs away.
The day after the dinner disaster, Lexi's parents show up at the Foster's bright and early claiming that Lexi left sometime in the middle of the night. They were hoping that maybe she came here. She didn't. Jesus claims he doesn't know where she is. Mariana claims the same. However, Mariana has her hiding out at Wyatt's place that no one is in right now. Since the two of them are in a fight, no one suspects Mariana of helping her. They don't really have a plan, but Lexi figures if she can just hide out long enough to miss her flight, she might not have to go. This is not a great plan, but she's 15.
Back at the house Stef has been urging her parents to call the police, but they are reluctant. And we finally find out why. The whole family is undocumented. Including Lexi (who had no idea). Jesus overhears this, and he and Mariana go get Lexi. At first I thought this was to keep Lexi's parents from calling the cops to keep them all safe, but maybe it really was that Lexi's now got leverage. I'm not sure.
Either way, they brink Lexi back to the house who claims she's only there because now she's not going to boarding school. Her mom says she is, and Lexi threatens to call Immigration and turn them all in. I get the point here, but how far (and how often) are we gonna pull this card Lexi? Are you gonna make this threat every time you don't get your way?
Also (yes, somehow even more happened in this episode) Mariana met with her birth mom again who wants money for 'rehab.' Sure. When Mariana tells her she doesn't have anymore, her mom suggests stealing something from the house and bringing to her so she can sell it. Great parenting there, Ana. Plus, Jude has potentially made a friend. Is Connor the same kid who wore the matching blue nail polish with him?
