Sons of Anarchy 4X13: To Be, Act I

And of course Clay isn't dead. Can we never get what we want?

So, once Opie realizes that Clay isn't dead, he goes to shoot him again, but Jax shoots him in the hand, so he can't. One of the prospects and Unser are also here, so Jax and Prospect drag Clay out to the garage, and Unser stays with him until EMS get there. Jax is going to try to pin this on the Niners.

However, since none of the other members of SAMCRO actually know what happened, Tig goes rouge and tries to kill Laroy. (And I think manages to kill his girlfriend). He ends up calling the club and they all escort him back to the clubhouse while being chased by a bunch of Niners. This seems silly to me. The Niners know exactly where SOA hangs out. All the damn time. You don't need to chase them through traffic. Just show up at the damn clubhouse.

Gemma finally tells the truth to Tara. That Clay killed Piney and that Clay was the one who tried to kill her. She assures Tara that if she just hands over the letters, Gemma will give them to Clay and this whole mess will be finished. Tara agrees and Gemma goes and gets them out of the storage unit. But, instead of bring them to Clay (who's still unconscious anyway) she brings them to Jax. And tells him the 'whole' truth about Clay. (Well, the parts that don't make her and Unser look bad anyway). And that he needs to kill Clay and take his rightful seat at the head of the table. She leaves him with the letters and waits outside.

When Jax finally comes out, Tara is there and he tells her she should have told him about them. She apologizes and he tells her that he has to kill Clay. She agrees, and hands him a syringe and tells him how to use it to kill him. I'm surprised by this. I really thought Jax would want Clay to see that he was being killed by Jax. Not just have him die quietly in his sleep. But, Tara tells him after he kills Clay, there are leaving. Jax looks at Gemma and promises her they are. So now there's totally gonna be beef between Tara and Gemma.

Also, Jax is concerned about the meet with the IRA and cartel since Bobby and Juice are still missing and he's heard that Otto flipped. But the Galindo (I don't remember who it was) member, assures him that Otto hasn't flipped. I have no idea if this is a miscommunication, or a deliberate lie, although to what end I don't know. So, the meeting is still happening.

Okay, so let's pretend for a second, that Jax and Tara leave (which I don't think will actually happen), who is left to be president? Clay is dead, Opie's not ready, it sure as hell can't be Tig, Bobby's in jail. I mean, the obvious answer is Chibs, but I really think Chibs would rather Jax do it. I'm guessing that with Jax as president, he can run the club the way he wants, and maybe that'll appease Tara enough to stay? I can't see them actually leaving. Also, I'm just going along with Jax killing Clay. There's at least a 50% chance he won't be able to do it, right?
