Ugh. We went from the high of highs, to the low of lows. All within 42 minutes.
So, we're at the reception and everything is going fine. But then, Dig gets a call from Oliver's lawyer who informs him that someone on the team is about to out Oliver as the Green Arrow and testify against him. I did not believe this and refused to think that this could be any of them. But, just to be sure, Felicity does some tech stuff to spy on Rene, Dinah, and Curtis. And they find out that Dinah is still talking to Vigilante.
Laurel 2 corners Thea and Lance outside her apartment later and knocks both of them out. She leaves a cell phone with Thea and drags Quintin away. Thea heads over to the bunker and it turns out Cayden James wants to exchange the safe return of Lance for some bomb exploding thing (BET).
They need to break into to somewhere and steal the BET, but when they do this, they leave Dinah out of the mission, unsure where her loyalties lie. When she shows up later and asks about it, Oliver tells her the truth. She claims she isn't planing to testify against him. And Rene backs her up. He knows it's true because he's the one who is gonna testify. He tells Oliver that the FBI told him if he didn't, he'd never be able to see his daughter again. Oliver tosses him off the team.
Not long after though, Thea talks to him about how many he'd be able to forgive him. Oliver says he actually does understand why Rene would do it and decides to give him another chance.
Felicity and Curtis sabotage the BET figuring that by the time Cayden realizes, they'll have Lance and will be long gone. So the team, including Rene, head over. Rene and Curtis are supposed to be back up for Oliver (who really ends up needing it, since Cayden knows immediately that the BET has been messed with and orders his cronies to kill him), but instead, Rene is tired of waiting and heads off to find Lance.
They find him, but are spotted immediately and Laurel 2 rushes him out of there. But Felicity sees them exit the building and sends Oliver over. However, Laurel 2 ended up letting Lance go. I mean, they did have a kind of nice conversation earlier, but I was not expecting this. Either way, Lance is safe and Cayden doesn't have the BET.
However, back at the bunker, Oliver kicks Rene off the team for good, and Dinah chooses to leave also. A few hours (?) later, Curtis comes back and leaves as well. Meaning we're back to just the original Team Arrow.
And then we find out that Laurel 2 planted cameras in the bunker (which is how they knew the BET was sabotaged). I can't believe that Felicity wouldn't be aware of that happening, right? Are they, like, magical cameras?
Plus! It's not just Cayden James and Laurel 2. It's 6 villains. We've got Cayden, Laurel 2, Vigilante, the guy who was giving Dig drugs for his tremors, Anatoly, and some other guy I didn't recognize. Great. Our big bad of the season is really Sextet. That's literally double the amount of Team Arrow right now. Sigh.
