The Vampire Diaries 3X12: The Ties That Bind

Oh, I didn't realize how much I missed Elijah. I like Klaus. But, I think I like Elijah more. I'm hopeful that he's a bigger part of the upcoming episodes.

So, Bonnie has been dreaming about a witch that can help her open the casket that has been spelled shut. Turns out, the witch is her mom that she hasn't seen in 15 years. She and Elena head over there to see if she can help. But, before they arrive, Klaus sends a hybrid over to do his bidding.

When they get there, they are escorted in while they wait for Bonnie's mom. When she gets there they find out that she doesn't actually have any power left and Bonnie is disappointed that this isn't the answer.

However, Stefan shows up to chastise the two of them for not being where they said they would be and ends up getting shot by Bonnie's step son (who's been compelled by the hybrid). He then ties up Elena while Bonnie's mom forces her into the car, and drives away with her.

Elena manages to break free and knocks out the step son. She then pulls all the wooden pieces out of Stefan's chest while telling him that she kissed Damon. He doesn't seem to take that well. They are silent for a good long while afterwards until he tells her she's better than both of them and leaves.

Bonnie's mom has taken her to the hybrid to convince her to tell him where the coffins are. Bonnie doesn't really have a choice and is forced to tell hybrid guy where they are. But, she does managed to get a message to Damon so he's able to hide the un-openable casket before Klaus gets there.

While all that is going on, Damon and Alaric are trying to figure out if he's doctor is a crazy psycho. And then she vervains Damon and steals his blood. Turns out, she actually injects humans with vampire blood to keep them alive when they should actually die. It's crazy, but maybe not psycho behavior.

Oh, and who was the human she gave Damon's blood to? Caroline's dad. He showed up to help Tyler figure out how to overcome his connection to Klaus. But, in order to do that, he needs to voluntarily turns into a werewolf enough times that it's no longer physically painful for him to do so. However, on the first time out, he gets free and attacks him. Whoops.

And then, we get to the delight. Once Klaus has the other three caskets at his house, his hybrid gets his heart ripped out. And he falls revealing the culprit was Elijah. (Turns out Damon also took the dagger out of him before he sent the caskets over). I love this so much.
