9-1-1 8X2: When the Boeing Gets Tough

You guys, Athena is about to land a plane. And Bobby thinks this is totally normal. I love it so much.

Okay, so we've got to deal with the aftermath of plane collision. Fun. The pilot got sucked out of the plane and the co-pilot is unconscious. Also, they cannot contact ATF. So, Athena calls 9-1-1 and gets Josh to put her through. She explains the situation and they tell her they are calling a flight instructor to come down and walk her through how to land the plane. That's not nerve wracking at all.

While we're doing this, Maddie calls and tells the 118 that she needs them to talk through the injuries of all the people on the plane. The passengers are all in various states of trauma, and we sort of figure out how to deal with all the issues in a makeshift manner, but I'm proud of how it turned out.

Once the instructor gets there, he starts to talk Athena through what she needs to do, but she completely out of her depth. Thankfully, we've got a 9 year old plane enthusiast aboard and he's able to help Athena out. Not long after, the co-pilot comes to and it's very exciting. But, then he immediately has a heart attack. Because, of course he does. (Oh and did I mention more of the plane ripped off? 9-1-1 can never make anything easy.)

Unfortunately, Bobby is on set of the fire movie (TV show?) and has no idea this is happening. Buck's been trying to get through to him, but he can't. Finally, he decides just to head over to the studio. As soon as he gets there, Bobby learned about the plane collision and just assumes that Athena is on the plane. And when Buck tells him she's the one who is gonna land it, he could not be less surprised. 🤣

But he, Buck, and the lead actor on the show (movie?) steal a prop fire truck to head over the airport to help once the plane lands.

Oh, and Dennis tells Athena that he's not going to the take the deal. He's still going to testify (they stuck him in a cell with a pedophile and hoped he'd talk, and talk he did) but tells Athena that unless he has her blessing, he'll stay in jail. I think this is kind of fucked up to put this on Athena. But, we've also seen Athena be in similar situations in the past and just because someone helped, she still send them to jail, so I don't think she'll be pressured to let him out just because he's doing this. It's still shitty of him to put her in that position, though.
