No! Only good things are supposed to happen for Felicity at all times! And the worst part about all this, is that the team has no idea that Cayden James used her. Ugh. Now we're gonna have to figure out how to keep Felicity out of jail at the end of this season. Grrrr.
So, Cayden James is back. And he's recruited Laurel 2 to help him steal the fingerprints from these 'boring' people who actual have access to the big ass giant room where the internet lives. (I mean, that's not really it, but you know, you saw). He claims he wants to get in, so he can take down the internet. However, later, we find out that that is not actually the case, it's just a step towards his Arclight (?) project. We don't really know what this is yet, but we do know that if he carries it out, it will kill hundreds of millions of people. Let's just to avoid that, yeah?
In order to stop this, Felicity and Elena (yeah, she's back) head to buy some computer stuff from a black market guy. But, Oliver who is spying on Felicity to make sure she's safe, ends up screwing up the deal. In the end, Elena gets shot, but Felicity does manage to get the equipment.
Later, they track Cayden and Laurel 2 to the room where the internet lives. Felicity is planning to stop whatever Cayden is doing, but he uploads a virus to stop her. And it turns out, she can't disable it remotely. So, she's got to find the terminal. But we're being chased and shot at. Not ideal. However, fake Overwatch to the rescue! Oliver is in the bunker and is playing Felicity. He guides her through (with a couple of issues, but hey manage it) and it's FUCKING ADORABLE. Felicity breaks the firewall and stops the attack. As far as she knows, they are done and she won. But, not so much. Cayden set her up to do that so no trace of him will be found in the system if anyone checks later.
Elena turns out to be okay, and suggests that she join Felicity and Curtis' start up. And she know exactly what the start up should do: make the implants that Felicity has in her spine affordable for people. Sounds like a good plan to me.
And Felicity and Oliver finally get to dessert (you know, sex at the loft), but they don't actually get to finish dessert. Slade calls Oliver and tells him he needs his help. And after what he did to help us at the end of S5, there is zero chance we can leave him hanging. But, damn, I just want Oliver and Felicity to have alone time people!
I'm guessing that the team up of Cayden and Laurel 2 are our big bad's for S6. Maybe? I don't know. I'd be okay if it was though. If that were the case, it would seem like we'd need a lot of Felicity, which I'm always happy about.
