So we finally get some backstory on how all of our characters ended up at the prison. It was highly entertaining.
While we know how both Michael and Lincoln ended up in prison, we get some more info on their backstory. Turns out, Michael is doing incredibly well in his life, while constantly having to pick up after Lincoln's mistakes. He tells Lincoln he should have done what he did and used mom's life insurance money to put himself through school. (We find out later there was no life insurance money and Lincoln borrowed it to allow Michael to have a good life). When Veronica finally informs Michael of that, he sets his plan in motion to figure out how to get his brother out.
C Note actually was in the army (I might have called him T Cell- I have no idea why I cannot remember this man's name). But he was running illegal goods for his higher ups. This wasn't an issue until he saw a prisoner getting tortured. When he blew the whistle, he ended up getting an dishonorable discharge due to the illegal goods. With that under his belt, it made it hard for him to get a job. And eventually he agrees to run a truck with some illegal goods in it so he can get some money for his family. He gets caught. And rather tell his family he's going to jail, he tells them he's going back for another tour.
Sucre fell in love with Maricruz, but she's from a better, wealthier area and in order to be worthy of her, robbed a convenience store. When he wanted to take her out to dinner, he only took $100 from the cashier. Later, when he decides he wants to propose, he heads back and the poor cashier offers him another $100, but a ring is much more expensive. However, as he's on his way out the door with the cash, the cops show up. His cousin, who even back then wanted Maricuz ratted him out.
Pocket Boy killed six student and was on the run (I guess?). He was settling down with a woman who had two children (who he claimed he loved), but then she saw him on an episode of America's Most Wanted and turned him in. She went to see him in jail and he was pissed that she would break his trust by turning him in. Bitch you killed six people. And just threatened to kill her as soon as you got out. Fuck this asshole. Still.
And Dr. Tancredi used to work in a hospital, but she was busy supplying herself (and others) with morphine. When a child gets hit by a car in front of her and she's too high to help, she ends up in rehab where she meets Bellick, who suggests the job at the prison. (He also seems to want to date her- and doesn't seem quite as asshole-like yet).
If we're gonna be doing a lot of backstory, that will make sense for how we are going to fill five seasons with this!
Oh shit! AND THE DENTURES!
