Okay, so, when I watched this, I had no idea what was going on with Elena/Katherine at the end of the episode. I was so confused as to why Elena would leave Bonnie at the restaurant. In the next scene, Katherine shows up at the boarding house convincing Damon to go on a trip with her. At the time, I thought maybe Elena was pretending to be Katherine. But now I think Katherine was pretending to be Elena to Bonnie. Although, I'm not sure how Bonnie didn't know. Shouldn't her witch instincts clue her in to that?
Anyway, turns out, Caroline's dad is immune to being compelled, so he remembers everything. And shows up at the Founders Day party to be a pain in the ass.
Meanwhile, Stefan is busy getting tortured by Gloria because she realized the necklace in question belonged to a girl who was chatting about Stefan. After a totally invasive body tour, she realizes the entire truth. Stefan loves Elena (and she's the doppelgänger and still alive) and is doing all this with Klaus just to save his brother.
As she's spilling all the tea, Katherine shows up and kills her. Which, good for Stefan, but now we've got to deal with this. They stick her in a coffin and hope for the best, bascially.
Later, Stefan and Rebekah kiss and she immediately knows something is off. She tells Klaus, and the next thing we know, Stefan is waking up in a moving van and back in Mystic Falls. Which totally sucks, because, in this small ass town, Klaus is going to find Elena pretty much immediately.
Jeremy finally tells the truth to Bonnie about him seeing ghosts after she brought him back from the dead. But, since Anna is all alone, I'm not sure we can totally trust her. I feel like she'd do anything to get Jeremy's attention.
Oh, and Damon totally killed Alaric (he was wearing his ring so it was fine, but still). Afterwards, Ric went to the counsel and told them he wanted a spot. The Gilbert's are a founding family and Alaric is taking care of the kids so he figures he's worth a spot. I hate zero idea where this is going or why he's doing this. But I'm keen to find out.
