The Vampire Diaries 2X16: The House Guest

Okay, so, we find out in this episode that Katherine knew that using that dagger on Elijah would kill Damon. She was desperate to get out of the tomb and would do anything. However, we also find out that she was given a choice to save Damon or Stefan and she chose Stefan. Damon seems a bit taken aback at first, but eventually, was like, 'well, of course.'

But, now that Elijah is dead, we go to Dr. Witch and Luka and see if they know how to kill Klaus. Stefan tries to get us all to work together, but Witch Doctor is all, 'Elijah is how we get our daughter/sister back.' He and Luka do some kind of spell that allows Luka to transport (invisibly) to wherever Elijah is. Once he find him, he tries to pull the knife out. However, Katherine sees this (just that the knife is moving out, Luka is invisible) and jumps over to push the knife back in. Doctor Witch realizes that it's Katherine trying to stop him and instructs Luka to stake her. He does, but not in the right spot. She calls for Damon as Luka goes back to the knife. Damon, is also confused, but just grabs a flamethrower and shoots it at the knife. In reality, Luka catches fire and dies.

Doctor Witch vows to kill Elena as payback. There is some doppelgänger mix up (I honestly can't remember where/which one Elena and Katherine are here), but it ends up with Katherine at Elena's. When she's alone, Witch Doctor tries to kill her, but Katherine ends up 'killing' him first. But when Bonnie reaches down to close his eyes, he grabs for her (insert a seriously loud jump scare scream by me here) and in that moment gives her back her powers and tells her how to kill Klaus.

Meanwhile, Caroline finally tells Matt how she feels (through song at the grill) and they have a good half hour maybe of just making out everyone. Then, Doctor Witch ends up stabbing Matt in the neck with a broken bottle and Caroline is forced to give him her blood to heal him. He totally freaks out when he wakes up (fair), but then blames Caroline for Vicki (totally unfair). He tries to leave, but Caroline stops him. We can't have him running around shouting about vampires.

And finally, Isobel shows up at Elena's house and Jenna is now aware that she's totally not dead. And I guess we're about to bring Jenna into the fold.

Oh, and Elena is totally happy for Bonnie and Jeremy to start dating.
