Lucifer 5x16 Reaction

Comments

I forgot to tag it. Should be there now.

Mega Reacts

I decided to re-watch all your 5B reactions and enjoy them all over again! I can't find episode 10? Episode 9 is still here and episode 11? Have I missed something? I remember watching it and loving, loving your reaction but it seems to have disappeared! Your reaction was definitely one of my favourites for episode 10!

Great finale and reaction! Kudos to you for getting so much spot on in your speculations throughout the whole episode. As to why there wasn't a bigger battle in the finale (although I like Heidi's theory about less killing) Joe Henderson, Showrunner and writer said it was planned to be huge originally and filming had completed almost up to that scene when Covid19 shut them down for six months. On returning they picked up at that scene but had to make Covid rules modifications...hence less people all two metres apart! I thought it worked well though. The 'Demon' who had his head lopped off was in fact Joe henderson in a cameo role! Also it about the time of the filming of episode 16 that Netflix asked for a season 6. 15 and most of 16 had already been filmed so what to do? Too late to change anything major (like Dan's death) so Ildy Modrovich, the other Showrunner, writer and Director said in an interview that they didn't change anything (except for Covid rules) and what we saw was as written in the script but there were still eight pages of script to still be filmed where we would have had all the endings, answers and solutions to what happened after Luci returned and how did all the characters end up...(I wonder if we might have had a montage of 'What happened to everyone?) Anyway, that is not to be because having a season 6 now means they took those eight pages and extended and added and developed the ending they wanted to tell (their words not mine) in greater detail, depth and with more time they could really explore what happens now, how, why and how does it end! I agree with you (as many reactors also said) that it seemed slightly abrupt an ending to season five but at least we know why. Joe also said that the immortality in the ring is what gave Chloe the chance to return but it has all been used up now and the ring is only a pretty piece of jewellery... I took that to mean that Chloe is not immortal as you were wondering. If you want a Lucifer fix while we wait (please not 9 months like between 5A and 5B) then I heartily recommend the Word Balloon interview on Youtube with Joe Henderson where he answers many detailed questions about 5A and 5B. I thought it was really illuminating and obviously no spoilers now as we have seen it all. He also teases about season 6 which is intriguing but in true Joe fashion he doesn't give any serious spoilers. Well worth a watch and I would recommend to all Lucifans. Thanks so much for your Mega insightful and interesting reactions and for sharing the journey so far and I hope we don't have to wait too long for season 6!

Oh my me. It was a great season. But you could tell they struggled with the ending a bit. What with Covid and having to rewrite it slightly for a final season 7. Just seemed a bit rushed to me.

Oh... and yes, Maze has most certainly earned her way back into my good graces by the end of these last two episodes. I can only hope she stays on our heroes' sides from here on out. :) Heidi

A Chance At a Happy Ending- I love these final episodes!!! And boy, did they kill me. Watching Dan die in the previous episode was really hard for me too. Dan’s death was most definitely hard, but it's like you said... his death was a good death. Yet learning that he’s now trapped down in Hell and seeing Trixie's, Chloe's, Maze's, Amenadiel's, and Lucifer’s reaction to this revelation, especially upon seeing how dark Lucifer appears in the ending of the previous episode in front of Linda... so heartbreaking. However, now that we’ve seen that Mr. Said Out Bitch has escaped his own torment in Hell thanks to Lucifer, I look forward to seeing Lucifer do the same for Dan too in season six. Now... watching both Chloe and then Lucifer die in this finale too?!!! Heartbreaking and yet so beautiful. I knew that Lucifer and Chloe couldn’t stay dead too, especially since we know there is a sixth season, but for me... this doesn’t make their deaths any less heartbreaking either. Their reactions to one another's deaths are shattering. And both Tom Ellis and Lauren German are phenomenal within these moments for their characters. These moments are my favorite moments and scenes within this episode. Absolutely phenomenal! :) I really do believe it is love that shows God that Lucifer is worthy of becoming the new God, that is if this is what we are meant to take away from Lucifer's resurrection within this ending. Which I will come back to momentarily... Lucifer wanted to become God to prove to himself that he is at last worthy of Chloe's love and so he could have the power to save Dan from Hell. I believe that because Lucifer is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to bring Chloe back to her daughter and to the world, because Lucifer believes that the world would be better with her in it, that this is why God saw Lucifer deserved to be rewarded at last. Lucifer willingly sacrificed his own life to bring Chloe back when he flew up to Heaven, knowing full well that he would die simply for trying to do so, and without knowing he would actually succeed. Lucifer sacrificed everything for Chloe. Because he truly does love her far more deeply than he's ever known. Absolutely beautiful and I love everything about this season's finale. Next... Did I hope for a little more of a fight between all the angels and demons? Of course. I think we all feel this way. However, Lucifer's point of challenging Michael one on one was solely to prevent more death, especially among his brothers and sisters. And had the battle continued on much longer... more death surely would have happened. This ending makes sense for the point that Lucifer was trying to bring about among all angels and demons. No more death. And this includes no death for Michael, as much as I would have loved to see Lucifer or Chloe kill him too. He definitely deserves it, and while he kneels down to Lucifer in defeat along with all the rest of their brothers and sisters... I do suspect that he just might continue to be a problem for Lucifer, but perhaps in a different way, since his original plan to destroy Lucifer has failed spectacularly. I've no doubt that there will be a new baddy for season six as well. Because I also suspect that there’s more to Lucifer simply becoming God. Something more sinister perhaps. I don't really fault anything within this episode. And all of this is why I love it so much. I think this episode ended just where it was meant to for whatever is to come for our characters, and I am very excited to see just what that is. I love this epic fight between Lucifer and Michael. And while I hate Michael as everyone is meant to hate him, I love him as a villain throughout season five. He's my favorite of all the antagonists throughout this entire show. And Tom Ellis as Michael is just fantastic too. All of season five is really fabulous! And I believe that everything that's happened shown throughout all of season one through now, and all that we've learned that's happened to Lucifer and everyone else, has all been God’s plan from the beginning, because He's always believed in His son, and has held out hope that Lucifer would find the strength and courage to be the man He has always believed Lucifer to be. The man Lucifer has truly has grown to become with great help from Chloe, as well as from everyone else he loves too. My favorite episodes from this season... Really Sad Devil Guy, Detective Amenadiel, Spoiler Alert, Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam, Nothing Lasts Forever, and A Chance At a Happy Ending. I would love to know which episodes are your favorites too, Clint. Oh... as well as which songs from the musical episode are your favorites as well. For me, my favorite songs from the musical episode are... I Dreamed a Dream sung by Lucifer and God, Wicked Game sung by Lucifer, and Every Breath You Take sung by Lucifer and their suspect's overbearing mother. I especially love I Dreamed a Dream. So beautiful and Tom Ellis has such an incredible and beautiful voice. The rest of the song order for me, is Smile sung by Trixie, Another One Bites the Dust sung by the whole main cast and ensamble, Hell sung by Dan, Amenadiel, and LUX ensamble, Bad to the Bone/No Scrubs sung by Ella and Maze, and lastly... Just the Two of Us sung by Linda, Amenadiel, and ensamble. I am so excited for season six!!! Mostly for seeing Lucifer's and Chloe's love story progress, to see Lucifer save Dan from Hell by helping Dan to rid himself of his guilt, and to see how Lucifer acts as God. Like I said... I suspect there's more to this than him simply becoming God just like this, and I suspect that there is going to be a lot of trouble coming his way because of what's now happened. We shall see! :) Thank you so very much for all of your incredible reactions for Lucifer, my dear friend!!! I cannot wait for you to continue on with season six when it comes!! Hopefully, the wait for us won't be too unbearbly long! You are incredible and I love you for being the amazing and caring creator here on Patreon and on YouTube that you are.
