It is a whole debate and so interesting and one of the things I love about this show, how philosophical it can get and how much you can debate about the characters. The vampires diaries has an extraordinary lore, and it doesn't get thrown at you in one go, you will get to know more about the lore little by little through the seasons. The lore is one of the things it made me love this show so much. Right now we have been told a couple of things about the lore already. I love the contrast and the internal and existential struggle between the brothers and what being a vampire means to them. I am looking forward to see more of your reactions. It gets better and better. Will you do 1 episode per week?

2021-07-05 02:36:09 +0000 UTCDamon enjoys very much to wind up his brother, he is telling him “I’ll kill you” but he hasn’t done it in 145 years, so it obvious that is just an act. Not that he isn’t really angry with Stefan, but he hasn’t acted on it, really. The kitchen scene in very important, for two reasons; one, when Elena asked him who dated Katherine first, Damon gave an answer that is quite noble, he told her to ask to Stefan, he didn’t badmouth his brother in front of Elena. Two, Elena is very intelligent and can read people extremely well, and by telling Damon she feels sorry for him too, took him by surprise and the real Damon showed his face, and by slapping him on the parking lot, she is conquering his respect. At the same time, she listen to Damon advise because he can read her well too. And yes Damon cares, he doesn’t like to show it, but he does, as we’ve seen in the last scene. He didn't have to do it, but he did. Stefan would like to pretend to live a human life, that was his aim with Elena, but he is living a lie and you can pretend to be someone you are not up to a point, because the truth will eventually catch up with you. Elena is not stupid, she is already starting to be suspicious. When they talking about humanity, it is something specific that is in the lore of this universe, that you have to still discover, but I can tell you with the information we have so far that here humanity means, care, feel, compassion, guilt, pain, emotions in general and feeling accountable for your actions etc. humanity that we can deduce, by seen the two brothers is something a vampire could decide to have or not. How does it work?
