Rush 1x4 Reaction

Comments

I also didn't like what happened between Rush and his Father's wife but I wondered what her real agenda was at the time. Okay, Rush is young, sexy etc but she chose the Father and had a child with him so it seemed really messed up for both of them. I still find this Show, on rewatching, very intriguing and different but still such an audition for 'Lucifer' and his story.

We Are Family- Thank you very much for another fantastic reaction for Rush!! While I enjoy this episode overall... I have to admit that is probably my least favorite episode within this season, or series. Like it is for you... seeing Rush make out with his stepmother, and knowing that they come to sleep together, even though his reasons are out of anger and resentment towards his father... it's very, very cringey. I understand that his emotions overpower him at this time and I understand where he's at in his head when he gives into his stepmother's advancements. I'm not excusing him in any way, but I understand. However, truth be told... I blame the stepmother more so than I blame Rush for them making this huge mistake. She knows darn well how Will feels about his father, and she only fueled his rage against him when she kept going on and on about how his father refused to help him, and that she had to talk to him for hours in order to convince him to give in. And if this wasn't bad enough, she then acts like Rush now owes her a favor for helping him. Rush's father is a scumbag, and I hate him for being so cold and even cruel towards his son. However, I hate the stepmother too for deepening Rush's anger against his father, all so she could have her own chance to get back at her husband for her own reasons for doing so. This whole situation is just so, so wrong. But with all this being said... I enjoy the rest of the episode very much. I love seeing how very protective of Eve Rush continues to be, especially upon learning that Eve had run into her ex at the club from the previous episode. I love seeing how worried he is for her, and that he warns her to be careful and to not give her ex the chance to weasel his way back into her life, because he is dangerous. I also enjoy the storyline between Rush, Alex, and Alex's wife, who sits them both down to demand that they stay away from one another for awhile. I agree with you that the bond between two really close friends like the bond between Rush and Alex, is tough to break. Hopefully it isn't ever necessary for real. However in this case... while I believe that Rush truly cares about Alex and wants to be a good friend to him, his life is a mess, and he's caused a lot of damage and turmoil in Alex's life. In ways that aren't healthy or good for Alex. So I absolutely understand Alex's wife's point of view. Although... I will say that while Rush has made some big mistakes that are bad for Alex, I really appreciate that Rush encourages his best friend to return home to be with his wife and son. Rush could have invited Alex to stay with him and encouraged him to do all kinds of things like what he would do. Drugs, and other not so healthy things. But he didn't. So, Rush isn't completely a screw up, and he does want what is best for those he cares about. And then... I really enjoy the storyline with Rush and the convict. I love seeing the development that takes place between them throughout this episode. From when Rush barely wanted anything to do with him and the bounty hunter, to seeing him fight with the boy's father to do everything he can to save his life. Again... proof that Rush most certainly cares more than he pretends not to. And I love seeing the bond between the boy and his father become mended by the end, as we see and hear the father plead with Rush to save his son's life in spite of his son being a big screw up. I love the son's plea for forgiveness and hearing him apologize for being the screw up. It's quite heartwarming, and makes me believe that maybe this family might be able to become whole again, and all the better for this experience. Unfortunately, this situation is what encourages Rush to listen to his stepmother's previous advice to try to make things right between him and his father, which is why he goes over to see him, only to find her there alone. Which... as we know, results in something very bad. Something that will likely make things that much worse for Rush. Not good. And lastly... I also like seeing Eve trying to move on from her pain caused by her ex, as she finally gives into Rush's advice to go out with the other handsome assistant who works for one of Rush's clients, whom we met back in the second episode. And I appreciate that he's a nice guy, and doesn't try to force Eve to have sex with him before she's ready. Rush is very funny when he encourages Eve to go out with the assistant. I really love his and Eve's friendship, and seeing him trying to help her to move on. It's so, so good. Overall... this is a good episode, and I really enjoyed your reaction for it too. So, thank you again, Clint! I am excited for you to continue on with more Rush! Until your next reaction... Thank you! Sincerely, Heidi
