Heartstopper 3x1: Love

I was afraid that I'd have forgotten everything that happened last season, it's been awhile, but these people are exactly as lovely as the last time we saw them. If you haven't watched the reactions for the first two seasons, this is really just a lot of me smiling and swooning.

Anyway, so Charlie is resolving to to tell Nick that he loves him before Nick leaves for a 3 week vacation. However, Charlie is also struggling with some disordered eating, and Nick has resolved to talk to Charlie about that. Nick goes first, and Charlie tells him he's fine, but then doesn't tell Nick he loves him. Sad. But later, right before Charlie has to go home, he says it through the bathroom door as Nick is in the shower. Charlie leaves, and Nick chases him down so he can tell him he loves him too. ❤️

Darcy is still staying with Tara, but has the option to moving in with her grandmother, which Tara encourages. She's loves Darcy, but living together is a little much for her. I can't tell if Darcy is upset or understanding about this.

Tao and Elle have a summer of romance with Tao constantly trying to make everything perfect and stressing out when they aren't. Elle tries to convince him he doesn't need to do this. They are fine and will continue to be when she leaves.

And Issac comes out to Charlie as asexual and aromantic.

I know there are a crazy amount of different terms between American and Britain (I was so self conscious when I was there that I was gonna call something wrong), but I just can't wrap my head around a tank top being a vest! Totally appreciate the schooling. I remember struggling with what it meant in previous seasons as well. 😳

Yes British people call tank tops vests for some reason. And 6th form is sort of like 11th-12th grade in our terms. It's just considered a separate phase of school, kind of more focused on specific subjects of interest for college prep. Nick is a year older than Charlie (along with Tara, Darcy, Tori, and Imogen) while Charlie, Tao, and Isaac are a year below them.
