Arrow 4X19: Canary Cry

Um, you guys, I think Laurel is actually dead. I can't figure out a way around this. I'm still sort of grasping at straws that whatever she and Oliver talked about that we didn't hear was about faking her own death for some ultimate 'take down Darhk goal.' But it's getting harder and harder to believe that. However, it's super odd that Barry shows up, but neither Sara or Roy, right?

And I don't really wanna be all 'yay' about it, because this episode is a downer, but Felicity is back! But, like John, she's blaming herself. She feels like had she been with the team, watching over them, maybe she could have saved her. Ugh. You guys. Let's put the blame where it belongs, on fucking Darhk.

Anyway, there is a copycat Laurel running around. Some teenager whose parents were killed by HIVE is wearing Laurel's outfit and killing people. Arrow and Co., but specifically Thea, is gutted by the idea that Laurel's legacy will be tarnished by this girl. They manage to track her down, and Oliver talks her out of shooting the mayor. But then, she immediately scoffs and tells her people to arrest him. Oh yeah, the anti-vigilante task force is back. πŸ™„ Bitch. Oliver saved you TWICE in this episode. And you want to arrest him? I mean, I get why, but come on.

Later, at Laurels funeral (between this and seeing Laurel in the morgue it's getting really hard to find alternative excuses for this), Oliver tells them that right before she died, she told him that she was the Black Canary. This preserves her memory, so now people will know that whatever happened afterwards, wasn't her. Also, did we know that Laurel's name was Dinah? Probably. But I don't remember them talking about naming her after her mom.

Also, it looks like Quintin has given up on the idea of trying to bring Laurel back from the dead. Now, he's just got to convince mom (whose name I forgot, no surprise there-EDIT: I realize I literally just said what her mom's name is, but this is funny, so I'm gonna leave it), that she's actually gone. They are used to 'dead daughters' coming back to life.

At the very end of the episode, Oliver gets into the car with Felicity after the funeral at the graveside. She tells him that he's got to kill Darhk. You know if Felicity is advocating murder, it's bad. Unfortunately, Oliver has no idea how to kill him. Felicity says that one of the things she loves most about him, is that he always finds a way.

Comments

Exactly, lol.

Heather

Realistically she should have been dead since she started vigilanting so way before now

C. J. Ramirez

She took a couple of boxing classes πŸ˜„

Heather

OMG. Thank you. I thought I was alone in hating how she just somehow acquired all these skills overnight was able to be a superhero. No. Oliver, sure. Thea, after Malcolm, 100%. Diggle, military man. Laurel? One of these things is not like the other.

Dana Licciardello

I hated that character with a passion. She was even worse when she became BC out of no where and with no training. She looked so dumb doing all of that. I'm with you everytime you point all of that out. πŸ˜†

Heather

Right. I just assumed it'd be a fake out. But here we are. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Dana Licciardello

Ooh, so I'm not the only non-Laurel lover still in S4. Lol.

Dana Licciardello

It kinda did come out of nowhere

C. J. Ramirez

I was ok with it, lol.

Heather

Ugh. I mean, I made my feelings for Laurel pretty well known, but I just wanted her to be the ADA that put the bad guys away. Not dead.

Dana Licciardello

Rip laurel.
