Arrow 4X15: Taken

I'm sorry. On my birthday? They break up ON MY BIRTHDAY? I don't even want to finish writing this description.

So, everyone finally finds out about William. And Felicity acting exactly as she did the first time she found out. Except, she manages to hold it all together at first so they can find him and take down Darhk. It isn't until much later when she finally tells Oliver she can't have a relationship like this and gives him back the ring. As soon as that happens though, Felicity's legs start twitching and she's able to get up and walk. Out of the loft, away from Oliver. 😢

But before that, we've got to take down Darhk. We get this magic lady Mari (Do we know her? I cannot remember seeing her before, but that doesn't really mean anything 😳) and she's able to destroy Darhk's power totem leaving him unable to do magic. This is kind of annoying since it should be one of us to takes down Darhk. Not an outsider. But anyway, he's taken down and arrested. William is saved and all is right with the world. (Until next week, I'm sure).

Oliver ends up deciding that it's too dangerous to stay in William's life, so he records a video for him to watch after he's 18. Felicity walks in while he's doing this and it's one more thing that he's decided without her when they are supposed to be partners. Just add it to the list. Ugh.

Malcom continues to try to convince Thea that he loves her unconditionally, but that's utter bullshit. I'm not sure he understands what love is. Even when he tries to tell her, it's so fucked up. I don't have any idea how this relationship can ever be repaired.

But while I feel that's true, I'm still holding out hope that Oliver and Felicity can figure things out. If Oliver would just get over the fact that he needs to protect everyone all the damn time, I think it would be delightful between them! Grrrr.

Also, everyone found out about the kid before Felicity anyway, so her knowing or not, really meant nothing except it kept her in the dark, which is the point. Plus, Oliver sent him away anyway, so he still doesn't get to see him. It had nothing to do with the kid. The whole Samantha telling him not to tell Felicity storyline wasn't about him having a relationship w his son it was about him not having one w Felicity. Just contrived drama to break them up based on Oliver's pattern of making decisions on his own.

I don't care about the kid or if Oliver sees him. If Felicity never said anything how would Samantha even know. That was a terrible ultimatum for her to even give Oliver anyway. The whole storyline is stupid. Not a fan of kid storylines unless it's Jamie Scott. But anyway my point was not about the kid, but Oliver's bigger issue. I'm still traumatized about his decisions in season 3.

Heather

So you want him to risk him not being around his kid

He could have told her anyway. She wouldn't have said anything. The big thing here is that Oliver always makes decisions without her input. He did it last season, several times. It's a pattern. He does this with everyone he loves as a way of "protecting" them. Felicity is allowed to feel how she wants about this. If they agree on full disclosure then that's what she deserves. If that's what she needs out of their relationship then that's her right. If she's repeatedly not getting it why should she stay? Oliver on the other hand has been this way since we first met him, so it could be hard to change him, but to give Felicity what she needs he has to or she just has to accept this is who he is.

Heather

I don’t know if I liked felicity’s response to break up because he wanted to tell her the mom didn’t want anyone else to know or else he wouldn’t be able to spend time with his kid
