One Tree Hill 7X13: Weeks Go By Like Days

Okay, so no real time jump to speak of. Just mostly skipping over Haley's tour and getting to see the last night back in Tree Hill.

So Brooke and Julian haven't spoken in six weeks. She seemed to think that time apart was what she needed, but even after taking all this time, she's still no closer to figuring out what to do. She just can't get past the fact that Julian is working (and constantly with) Alex. And he can deal with the fact that she can't handle it. It's just a shitty situation. Ordinarily, I'd probably say that Brooke is in the wrong here. But in this situation, I get it. Alex spent so much time trying to get Julian to fall in love with her, that I actually do get why Brooke doesn't want them working together. In any other instance I'd say it's Brooke's issue, but not in this instance, I don't think.

She's also hired a designer for her men's line (even though I thought she was doing it herself), who Julian accuses her of using to make him jealous. Because his name is Alexander. Okay, Julian. That's a bit of a stretch. But, later, he asks Brooke if she wants to go to dinner and talk about Julian. And while she turns him down because she's going to Haley's show, she does end up at his hotel room after running into Julian and Alex, and takes him up on it.

Millie is bailed out by Victoria who tells her she can come back to work. And while Millie is grateful, she's still struggling with not doing coke. Alex comes and drags her away from a party where she's sitting next to a plate of it. Alex tells her she's gonna. help her through this no matter what because she loves her. We'll see. But later she gets a text from McKenna asking her to come to a party, and we don't actually see if she goes.

Too much of this episode is Clay and Quinn trying to reconnect after he's been away. But Taylor shows up at the concert (you know, to flirt with Nathan 🙄), and asks if she and her man can stay at the house. Turns out her man is David. Quinn's super recent (as of like that morning) ex husband. Also, we so don't need Taylor back. I get that this show is a drama, which means we actually need, you know, drama, but at thins point, I feel like we're getting plenty between Millie and Brooke and Julian. We don't need more people either! Just let me watch my friends be happy!

Sorry that you didn't care for this episode too much Dana....I thought you would have enjoyed it more because of Haley getting to tour with Nathan and Jamie right by her side, and of course to hear Joy singing and her amazing voice. I know musical performances on this show aren't really your thing, but the exception would be Haley, lol. Plus, it's not like we were getting entire 3-4 min songs featuring Haley, we were only exposed to little snippets of them as the side stories played over the music. It was actually executed pretty perfectly I thought. And the song you loved so much at the beginning was "Flying Machine" by Joy!!! I loved that we got to see what tour life was like for the family as they all experienced this together, and NHJ singing at the beginning before all of Haley's shows, was golden indeed. And Jamie so excited to be on the tour bus, with his photo album of all his pictures from the road that he came back with...dressed in all his mom's Haley James Scott concert apparel was absolutely adorable. His excitement for his road excursion got a little out of hand and Nathan had to rein him back in a bit...but I loved it, lol. Nathan's such a good dad, and I love how we never have to question that both Nathan and Haley always put him first in everything they do. The family all together for this tour is a shining example of just that. And then getting to see the end of Haley's tour as she played her hometown in Tree Hill....was everything. It was so warranted and earned for Haley the character, as well as Nathan and Jamie and their family. It's always Haley and Jamie who have been by Nathan's side for the entire duration of his basketball career, and to see the roles being reversed now as Haley still gets to live out and pursue her dreams of music is just as important. Plus, Joy getting to showcase her talents is always a welcome sight, and I couldn't have loved it more, hehe. I know you didn't really like Jamie joining Haley onstage at the end, but I thought it was adorable and such a sweet mother/son moment. You can so tell it meant the world to Jackson too and he was having a blast as Jamie in those scenes with Joy. We are so used to seeing Nathan and Jamie share those moments around basketball, and so for Haley to finally get to share some of those special moments with her son.... had to mean everything to her. Her family is her #1 priority, and so getting to see Jamie introduce his mom at the beginning and share the stage with her at the end......was everything, and so fitting for this family!!! Perhaps they open and close all of Haley's shows in this same way? Who knows, but It's a sweet thought nevertheless, lol. And Taylor showing up at the concert, and James' unscripted body shake as Nathan as she walks away.... was golden indeed, lol. I always laugh so hard at that scene. It was a wonderful Nathan moment for sure, that James tapped into perfectly, lol. And the reveal at the end that David is now dating Taylor, and they have come to crash and stay with Naley, lol, I can't even, hehe. Let's just say.... let the fireworks begin, lol. So can't wait for the next episode. It's one of my favorites, and hopefully one of yours too!!!

These moments were really well earned for Haley and her character as well as Nathan and Jamie getting to be right along beside her for the whole thing. It has been years in the making, and what a difference it makes now for Haley to have her family experience road life with her, as opposed to how S2 played out with Haley by herself as a newcomer, while Nathan stewed back home, and their marriage suffered. To see it all come full circle now is everything. One of the very best things the show could have done, and it was executed perfectly. Glad you enjoyed it too. I could listen to an entire episode of Haley doing nothing but singing because Joy and her voice are that fabulous!!! So glad her talents got to be showcased in this episode....it was well earned indeed!!!

Melissa

Yep....and seeing Jamie so excited about it all was everything. I mean he went a little bonkers with his excitement and Nathan had to rein him back in, lol, but it was warranted and earned, nevertheless. Considering we've been watching Haley and Jamie right by Nathan's side with basketball for years, even dating back to when Jamie was a baby/toddler and Naley were in school while Nathan played college ball, to see the roles be reversed now, and Nathan and Jamie go on tour with Haley this go round.... was everything. I always thought that Haley's tour in S7 was one of the best full circle moments the show could have ever done, because it was literally years in the making :)

Melissa

I personally love all the music moments in this show but I especially think the ones in this episode are very earned... really anytime it involves Haley singing because I think it's important that we see her living her dream, that we see why she is a success (because her voice is fuckin amazing). Also those times we saw extended Basketball scenes, I think it's also important that we see extended sequences of Haley living her dream. These moments don't feel forced, they feel earned because it isn't a random singer who got some promotion out of being included in a show. It's seeing a character we know and love do her thing and frickin kill it! :) <3

I said job, but it's more than her job it's her dream. Haley and Jamie are always supporting Nathan with his, so for them to do the same and especially for Jamie to participate is special. I love that for her.

Heather

Yes...this was a perfect full circle moment for the Scott Family, and I absolutely adored it all. Remember in 5x13 when Naley went to therapy, and Olivia hinted that if they got the chance to redo things in the face of their dreams, would they do it differently, and they both immediately said they would....and so fast-forward a few years since then, and Nathan is in the NBA, and Haley gets to go on tour again, except this time she's got her family with her. Nathan and Jamie finally get to experience the entire thing with her, and as a Naley fan...we couldn't ask for more. I loved everything we got to see with the 6-week tour with NHJ, including the beginning with them singing, the tour bus, and then Haley's encore performance back in TH to wrap up the tour. The fact that Nathan and Jamie were right by her side, so excited for her, and Jamie finally got to see how cool his rock star mom is....by joining her on stage at the end....my favorite part of the episode. I loved it all for NHJ!!!! It gets a big thumbs up from me, hehe, and will always be one of my favorite moments of the show for NHJ!!!

Melissa

Jamie was on stage for less than a minute during an encore performance in their home town. I thought it was really sweet that he got to share that moment with Haley. He's use to doing that kind of stuff with Nathan, so it was nice that the roles were reversed and he gets to see how cool his mom's job is. I also loved that this time Nathan joined her on tour. Her tour experience was much different than the last time. Nice to see that come full circle.
