One Tree Hill 7X12: Some Roads Lead Nowhere

So, the good news is that Clay and Quinn (somehow, it all seemed a little complicated to me) managed to get Nathan on the Sacramento Kings, but also arrange a trade to the Bobcats on the same day. He was going to be offered 7 million to play in Spain, but Clay managed to get him 15 million to stay at home. But he has to let Clay be his agent again, and he has to accept that he loves Quinn.

It seems like Haley is still planning on going on tour though. We see her, Nathan, and Jamie loading up the tour bus. But they seem pretty happy about it. But they could just be happy that everything worked out. I don't know what Jamie is gonna do. Is he going with Haley? Or staying with Nathan? Neither really seem like good options. Unless they get some sort of nanny, but I don't think Haley or Nathan will ever trust a random stranger with Jamie again.

Alex is gonna be just fine. Of course she is. Nathan went over to her hotel room to tell her that the movie was gonna get made, and he found her in the tub. Brooke meets him at the hospital, so it doesn't seem like they aren't on speaking terms, but it's not good between them.

Julian talks to Alex and she's lethargic and weak and sad. But once he tells her that the movie is back on and they are working on it together, she breaks into a huge smile and all of a sudden has plenty of energy. 🙄 Julian makes her promise never to do this again. She agrees, and Brooke happens to walk by as Julian grabs her hand.

Later, he tells Brooke that he loves her, he misses or and he wants to be with her. But also, that he's doing the movie with Alex. Brooke points out to him that he likes vulnerable, sad girls. We don't get confirmation one way or the other how that conversation ends.

Millie get dropped off by Mouth at what I think is rehab. (Brooke tells her she's not a model anymore, but she is still her friend and she needs to get help). But once he leaves, she climbs out the window and down the fire escape. So, maybe this isn't rehab? Surely they would have it better monitored if it was.

During his live show at Tree Hill High, Dan shocks the audience (and Rachel) by telling them this is his last show. He realizes that there is no such thing as forgiveness, and all you can do is live with what you've done. He's made a lot of money off of this endeavor though, so he's donated all of it. (He doesn't seem to come clean about his heart though). He also serves Rachel with divorce papers. She's initially excited to get his money, but then realizes there is no money as he gave it all away. We see him boarding a bus at the end of the episode, so I have no idea what's going on with him.

Also, Skills gets the job in LA, so he and Mouth head there together.

This seems like a mid season finale. I assume it was. I'm also wondering if we're going to get a time jump when we get back. It seems like there are so many moving pieces right now, that I don't know how we'll be able to follow along with everything. Haley on tour, Nathan on the road, Mouth and Skills in LA, Dan who knows where. It just seems like a lot.

Love this episode so much....and yes, it was the mid-season finale. So glad that Clay, with the help from Quinn came through for Nathan, and he gets to stay with the Bobcats, up his deal to make even more money, and all is well for the Naley family, hehe. It was lovely seeing it all come to fruition. The cheerleading tryouts with Quinn were hilarious, lol, and love Naley's reaction when Clay and Quinn told them that Nathan was being traded back to the Bobcats...perfect indeed!!! The Naley hug and embrace is everything!!! And speaking of Naley, and NHJ...love all the family moments we got in this episode. The beginning sequence with the soap in Jamie's mouth was so funny, and Nathan telling Jamie that when he's having a bad day he goes to the bar, lol, so let's go. And when they get to Tric and Nathan introduces Jamie to Grubbs as his old college roommate, that was perfect indeed, lol. And when Grubbs asks Jamie when his birthday was...and Jamie looks right into the camera and says June, but it changes sometimes, lol, that was done on purpose as a shoutout to the fans who got mad at the show in S5 when they tried to pull off Jamie's birthday as being in the spring sometime, and the fans let them have it, lol. Remember that Jamie was born in the S4 finale at graduation in an episode that aired on June 13th, so the show was finally acknowledging the correct date, hehe. OTH fans have always been savvy, and I so love the fact that they held the writers to a higher standard to get things right with Jamie's birthday moving forward. And the tomato fight was glorious between NHJ and Grubbs, lol. I adored that scene. JJJ were all having so much fun in that scene and you get to see so much of the actors in their element together when they get to play scenes like that featuring NHJ having so much fun. It was hilarious, and so was the scene of NHJ all in Tric afterwards covered in tomato juice reminiscing about what they'll miss about TH, and when Haley tells Nathan that she'll miss the bathrooms too (a call back to their slutty wedding sex in those bathrooms) I squeal every time, hehe. Nathan's proud look and smirk at his wife is everything, lol. Also love Dan in this episode, and him deciding to give away all his money and catching Rachel off guard, was such a delight. So fitting indeed. The scene between Nathan and Dan was also very satisfying, and those two play off each other so well, and Dan and Jamie are always great, so Jamie saying goodbye to his grandfather, gets me every time. And the ending sequence with Nathan at his press conference with Joe Turner was so heartfelt because it's been in the making for so long, so getting to see Nathan realize that his dream is still intact is always glorious to watch. And then even better.... we get to see Nathan and Jamie go on tour with Haley. Yes Dana....the family is all going on tour together, don't you worry, hehe. That's why you saw Nathan pick up Jamie's bag and get on the bus with his family as the doors closed. The NBA season hasn't started yet...it's still the offseason if you will, so now that Nathan doesn't have to report overseas, he's still on his old team like nothing ever happened, he and Jamie have the time to join Haley and tour the country together as a family. It's such a full circle moment for them...and another huge milestone for Naley that has been years in the making, and it's perfect indeed. The time frame will make more sense to you next episode, but you don't need to worry Dana....NHJ are all together!!!! And yes...lots of moving parts in this episode as they set up all kinds of things between Clay and Quinn, Brooke, Julian, and Alex, Mouth and Skills, Millie still being a mess, and Brooke now with a new designer. Going to be lots of fireworks during the second half of the season, lol. P.S. Lots of prayers right now to my fellow Floridians who are dealing with another massive hurricane to hit our state just 2 weeks after Helene wreaked havoc. Stay safe from Milton everyone!!!! Many thoughts and prayers go out indeed!!!
