9-1-1 5X17: Hero Complex

I didn't love the Eddie stuff in this episode, but if it helps him figure out how to get back to 118, I'll take it. Also, this was two episodes in a row that I really cried. Not just some silent falling tears, but crying, crying. Stop putting Chim in danger!

We finally get to the bottom of the Jonah mystery. Turns out, he saved a bus driver who was having a heart attack as a child and got a bit of fame. Then, he spent the rest of his life chasing that high.

Hen, who was still confused as to how Claudette could have died after she was totally fine, asked Taylor to see the raw footage that the news recorded. She and Chim see him injecting her with something that causes her heart to stop. And, he was then unable to get it restarted. The two of them go on a deep dive and find some compelling evidence that Jonah is purposefully bringing patients to the brink of death on perpose, to get the glory of 'saving them.'

They bring the evidence to Bobby and reports it. As soon as that happens, Jonah seems to immediately know that Hen is the one who got him put on administrative leave, and vows to show her how great he is. He does this by drugging her, and handcuffing her to a chair. When she finally wakes up, she sees that he's got Chim strapped to a table, and he's unconscious. He makes Hen watch him 'kill' Chim a couple of times just to show Hen how great he is at bringing him back. Eventually, he's busy talking with Hen for too long and doesn't realize that Chim is awake. He ends up grabbing of the defibrillator pads and subduing him with that.

The police and Bobby show up, and Bobby just hauls off and unleashes on this guys. He needs a couple of guys and Athena telling him this asshole isn't worth it, before he finally stops hitting the guy.

Bobby, of course, then blames himself for all this because he 'let him into his house.' Athena tries to assure him that the only person to blame here is Jonah, but Bobby feels awful.

Finally, Taylor ends up reporting all the info she has about Jonah when she promised Buck that she wouldn't do a story about it. She promised everything she heard when Hen and Chim came over to watch the footage would be off the record. I'm really hoping this is the thing that finally drives a wedge between them, and they finally break up.
