Wildfire 2X9: Breakdown

Okay, so, Kris is on Picaro, racing against Wildfire. She's super conflicted. Of course, she wants to win the race because it helps her career as a jockey, but she also wants Wildfire to win, because, it's Wildfire.

During the race, Kris makes a late break with Picaro, however, as she's passing Wildfire, she looks back when she thinks she sees something off with him. Just as this happens, Picaro, falls, causing Kris to fall. Picaro bumps into Wildfire and neither Wildfire or Picaro win.

But, it's even worse than that. Turns out both Picaro and Wildfire got hurt. Picaro bad enough that they are considering needing to put him down. Kris is devastated. However, Matt had been considering pulling Picaro from the race due to a hurt foot, but as he didn't seem to be experiences much pain on race day, let him run. After being checked out at the vet, it turns out Picaro was drugged and unable to feel much pain, and he broke his leg during the race.

Anyway, there's an investigation into whose fault the accident was. Kris is brought in to give a statement, and she ends up freaking out. She says she looked back to check on Wildfire and she must have pulled on his reins or something. She's sorry. Later, Matt tells her that she's been absolved of all charges. (I assume Matt told the committee about Picaro being drugged, which took the heat of Kris, but I can't be sure).

In other news, Junior bets Bobby the bookie his club that Picaro will win the race. When he doesn't because of Kris falling, Junior ends up super broke and is now sleeping in his car. He ended up getting evicted, his car repossessed, and losing his club. Things are not looking great right now. I'd say maybe he ends up back him with Ken before long. but that end of the episode, we find out that he drugged Picaro because he is in deep financial and legal trouble and really needed a win.

Ugh. Again, I say, the show does not have the right to be this good!
