Shameless 8X3: God Bless Her Rotting Soul

I think this was my favorite episode of the season so far. It kind of got me back to why I originally liked Shameless in the first place.

So, we start with the family trying to figure out how to deal with the meth situation without involving Fiona. However, after the dude shows up at the house and tries to drown Carl and holds Ian at gunpoint, they realize that's no longer an option. They need to pay this guy off and the only way to do that, is to get Fiona and Liam's share of the meth, which only Fiona knows where it is. She makes them all tell her that she was right and they were wrong, but does eventually tell them what they need to do. Which is, dig up Monica's casket, because that's where the meth is. Afterwards, they take they leftover meth and whatever cash they can scrounge up to the guy and they call it even.

Neil has finally broken up with Debbie after the nurse she sent to him, actually did some sexual things to him. Also, he told her off for only being with him for his money. This totally needed to happen. But I have no idea where Franny was this episode, or what Debbie is going to do with her now that Neil is not watching her all day.

Youens gets a DUI by literally driving through a house. Lip tries to help him as best he can. He picks him up from the police station, buys him groceries, and tries to contact lawyers. However, it turns out this is his 5th DUI and lawyers are not so eager to defend him. Lip talks to Brad (I think his name is Brad) about it, and they decide to bring the AA meeting to him, if he isn't willing to come to them. I think this is lovely. Maybe it's just because it feels nostalgic, as I spent a lot of time in AA meetings at a kid.

V realizes how much of a help Svetlana really was at the bar. They are hemorrhaging money without her and she comes up with a solution. Svetlana gives Kevin and V 2/3 or the bar, she keeps 1/3. Svetlana gets to be the manager, but she teaches V how to do the books, and V makes sure she gets out of prison. But, no throuple (no matter how much Svetlana wants one).

Kevin goes for some genetic testing since he doesn't know anything about his background. They tell him he's from some tiny ass place in Kentucky that was cut off from most of society for about 100 years, which means most of his family is inbreed. V finds the family online and Kevin calls them. He finds out his name is actually Bart and both he and V seem happy about this.

There's some stuff that happens with Fiona and the apartment as well, but I was less interested in that. But, why is mostly sweet, nice Nessa, staying with her bitch of a girlfriend? I know she told Fiona that bitches are her type, but come on.
