Wildfire 2X7: Taking Off

Ooh, this feels like a situation I would get myself into. Being proud of myself to trusting my instincts and being right, but then getting fired anyway, because I was told to do something else. Also, having to deal with feeling like I'm betraying someone who saved me seems like a shitty place to be in.

So Kris gets a gig riding for some famous trainer guy, but the way he wants her to ride conflicts with the knowledge that Pablo gave her, and her own instincts. He tells her she's smart and to speak up, but when she does, he tells her she's wrong and they will lose if they don't do it his way. She does it her way, wins, and still gets fired.

But her agent is already looking at setting up other jockey jobs for her. He claims she should be riding 4 or 5 horses a day. She apologizes for getting fired, but this old man is totally sweet on her, so it's all fine. He's definitely way too old, right? I don't know how old he's supposed to be, but I feel like early to mid-30s and Kris is definitely not 18 yet, right? Plus, I think she and Junior really want to be together. Plus, I think it's a bad idea to mix romance with the guy who is basically your boss. Everything about this screams bad idea.

Rebecca has nowhere to live (and I'm pretty sure I go back and forth between calling her Rachel and Rebecca all episode 😳), and Junior is broke, so they decide to move her in for mutually beneficial reasons. But Junior is uncomfortable and unhappy from the jump. Her stuff is everywhere, she's always there, and he's still hung up on Kris. Just another bad idea.

Charlie plans to propose to Jean, but after finding an old bottle of champagne and Jean tells him he drank with Pete, he questions if anything happened between them. She doesn't say no, but she heavily implies it by being offended and asking why he would ask her such a thing. He's content with that answer, and the next day, he proposes. She cries and tells him she loves him. He says then they can work anything out. She confesses sleeping with Pete and tells him she loves him. He says, 'not enough not to sleep with your ex,' and leaves. Good for him. I was afraid he was just gonna be overly nice about this, and end up just letting it go. This was 100% a choice by Jean. She wanted it. I'm totally Team Charlie.
