Oh, this episode was so much better than the previous one. If we could just stop caring about this Julie BS, it would all the better!
So we start by getting Jason back. He's a full time agent and is telling Eric he's gotten a lot of calls about him. He's done so well with the rag tag team, that colleges are looking at him again. He tells Jason, it's nice to hear, but he's happy where he is.
However, right after this meeting, Eric finds out that the someone over on the other side of Dillion has gotten the mug shots and criminal records of everyone on the team. I totally forgot there were so many of these guys who were playing to stay out of jail. They are generally such nice guys, I forget they've been arrested for stuff. Anyway, the players are pissed, Eric is pissed, and the Panther coaches don't seem like a lot a help.
Eric later gets a call from a college that tells him he got his number from Jason and wants to offer him a job. Eric says he's not interested in an assistant coach position right now, but they tell him it's head coach. That does make Eric pause a bit (as it probably should), and they plan to talk later, as this is not a great time (what with the mugshots and all).
Later, we get the rivalry game between the Lions and the Panthers. The Lions come out mad as hell and are throwing hits and blocks like there is no tomorrow. This isn't really the game Eric wants to play, but his players are pissed and are leaving it all on the field. At the end of the game, Vince decides to go for a long bomb since there are scouts there to see him instead of taking a knee like Eric told him to.
See, his dad has been talking to all the schools and playing them off each other, You know, the exact thing Eric told him not to do. I don't know exactly how, but this is totally gonna blow up in Vince's face, and Eric is gonna be there to help him pick up the pieces.
He and Eric have a confrontation about it, and dad claims he doesn't remember that conversation at all. He's doing what he needs to for Vince, so Eric can basically just go fuck off. After the game, Eric sees them talking with one of the recruiters and ooh, does Eric give them a look of death.
There was some Julie bullshit with Tami going to her college to get her work from Derek, but no one cares.
Also, Billy is training Luke, and teaching him all the exact wrong things to do to get a girl to like you. Once he fesses up and acts like a normal person again, Becky seems to like him just fine.
