Okay, so I HATE that we're getting so little Claire and Jamie. This is stupid. Why are we focusing so much on Roger and Brianna? I don't care about them! I would happily watch a whole series where Jamie and Claire just sit next to each other for an hour for 23 episodes. GIVE ME CLAIRE AND JAMIE.
So, Jamie is getting ready to leave for the first battle. He says his good bye to Claire and heads out. Meanwhile, William is heading for the same battle. He's very exciting and ready to prove his love for his country. However, actual battle is different than he expected when the opening of the battle correlates with his friend immediately being shot and killed. The British claim to win the battle, but they lost a lot of lives in the process. But, it turns out, William is a good fighter. And he's pissed, so he ends up slaughtering a lot of people. Also, at the end of the battle, we get a close up on what certainly looks like Jamie, dead on the battlefield. I mean, there's no way that can be true, but what happened here?! I'm so glad that there is one more episode in this season, because I could not handle it if I had to stop here.
And, back in 1980, we find out the peeping Tom is Buck from back in the 1700s. He somehow accidentally traveled through the stones and wants help to figure out how to get home. Also, work guy (Rob, maybe?) has read Roger's time travel book, and all of Jamie and Claire's letters and has kidnapped Jemmy to use as a sacrifice to get through the stones. I'm sorry. What? I mean, we knew something was off about this guy, but I was not expecting this. Also, in what universe would you read this and assume it's true?
Buck and Roger race to the stones to try to save Jemmy when they realized what's happened, only to find Jemmy's scarf left behind. I assume we are meant to believe that they both went through the stones. However, this would solve the issue of 'why don't they just go back?' after Mandy had her surgery. Either way, there was still way too much happening in 1980.
Outlander gods, I'm begging you, please, give me an adequate amount of Claire and Jamie next episode to hold me over because I don't know when I'm watching this again!
