Friday Night Lights 5X6: Swerve

I'm mad at this episode. They gave me a stupid amount of Julie and TA story (that I so don't care about) and didn't show me a winning football game! WTF. I hate this. This episode had way too much drama and not enough football.

Okay, to be fair, I guess the Julie stuff was well done, but Julie's drama is not why I'm turning into this show. Neither is the drama with Vince and that gang dude. However, I am totally here for the drama between Vince and Luke about who stole whose scholarship.

Either way, Julie purposefully crashes her car so that she doesn't have to go back to school. Eventually, she breaks down and tells Tami what happened. Later, when Tami and Eric discuss, Eric loses his mind. He's so, so upset. So much so, that he leaves a practice early, and shows up late for a game because his head is such a mess over this. This is not Eric. Especially not the Kingmaker.

Gang dude is demanding $5000 from Vince (although, I'm not really sure why). Vince tells him he'll get it to him and he has until Friday. He raids his house, but doesn't come up with enough. Jess suggests talking to Eric or his dad. He says no to both, but eventually goes to his dad, who tells him he'll take care of it. His way of doing that is the beat the guy senseless and threaten to kill him if he comes near Vince or his family ever again. I'm 100% sure that Vince's dad is gonna die over his before the show is over.

The drama that I was into this episode, was Luke going to Eric and telling him that Vince told him about TMU wanting both of them. Eric tells him, they don't actually want Luke. They just used him as a way to get to Vince. Luke, upset about this comes over to see Becky who's not there, but he and Billy get drunk and Luke drunkenly calls the head coach of TMU to give him a piece of his mind. I can't wait to see the outcome of that. But the worst part is that Luke is taking this out on Vince. Vince has nothing to do with this!

And speaking of Becky, Mindy tells her it's time to get over Tim, and sets her up with Luke. I'm not misremembering that Luke was the one who got her pregnant, right?
