Okay, so, the asshole's brother shows up with his safety committee (🙄) to arrest Claire for murder. Jamie is like, good luck trying to take her. She stays here with me. He and Claire run for cover inside the house. And a shootout ensues. Eventually, the fisher folk show up and manage to negotiate a situation where Jamie can go with Claire to a trial. However, in a surprising twist Christie tells them they will leave in the morning and can spend the night together at home.
In the morning, they head out with Jamie and Claire in a covered wagon being escorted by a dozen or so men on horseback. Along the way, though, Brown tells every town that they've got a murderer in the wagon, ensuring that there is zero chance Claire gets a fair trial. Just before they get to town though, it's discovered that due to the upcoming revolution, a trial will not be possible there and they need to go to Wilmington, some 10 days journey away.
When stopped at a camp for the night, Jamie goes to pee, and runs into Ian, who has been tracking them. They try to devise a plan, but it doesn't seem like they can figure one out in the 90 seconds they are together, but Ian assures them they will figure it out.
Back on the road, the committee loses control and Jamie and Claire end up getting stoned, as people in towns they are passing through, want to attack the murderer. Again, in a surprising twist, Christie calls for peace. (Maybe I was wrong about him and he's not the one who actually murdered Malva? But still, someone did! Now I've pivoted to her brother.)
At some point along the journey, they stop for water. Jamie gets out to fill his canteen for both he and Claire, but he's overtaken by the group. They hold him back while the wagon takes off with Claire. Doesn't this show know bad things happen when the two of them are apart?!? We learned that in, like, season 1!
Anyway, they end up taking Jamie to a beach and telling him they'll be boarding a board back to Scotland and he'll never see Claire again. Just as someone is about to hit him (I think) he gets shot with an arrow. Ian has shown up with a cavalry of Indians. They take out all of the men except the one who has a gun pointed at Jamie's head. Jamie tells them not to kill him because he knows where Claire is. Ian says they do to, and shoot him dead. They untie Jamie and ride off (presumably to Claire).
Meanwhile, Claire is on her way to a jail in Wilmington. Once there, they lock her in a cell and Christie promises that Jamie is alive. And that neither she or he will be dying, as he doesn't want that on his conscious.
Hopefully, S7 will bring some much needed peace to Claire. It seems unlikely as we've got a revolution to contend with, but a girl can dream, right?
