So Moira's friend has decided to run for mayor. Oliver and Thea try to talk her out of it, seeing as the last three mayors ended up dead. Not to mention all the leadership last episode. She says, that's why she needs to do it. During her announcement, she's attacked by a guy working for Darhk. However, when he fails to kill her (being stopped by Oliver) Darhk tells him he can have one more chance. He decides to kidnap the mayor elect's daughter and torture her. Thankfully, Oliver and Co. find her before anything terrible happens. But, her mom has decided to drop out of the race.
However, during this extraction, Thea (who is still not in her right frame of mind) ends up setting the kidnapper on fire. And this is after Oliver has already spoken to her about what happened in Nanda Parbat. She assured him, she was fine, but she obviously not. However, Oliver manages to save him and he's in route to the hospital when he kills the EMTs and escapes.
Later, Thea does seems to realize how old of control she's been. Laurel offers to take her on a spa day to appease Oliver. Once Oliver leaves, she tells Thea they are going back to Nanda Parbat. Not only so they can fix Thea, but also so they can bring a recently dug up Sara back to life. Also, if I'm being honest, I don't really like Thea in this role. I know I was screaming loudly for her to get on the team, but I think I was wrong. At least in this capacity. She can do something, but I don't think this is it. Maybe research or something?
After a conversation with Lance, Oliver decides he needs to do more for the city. He wants to bring forth hope and change. And he wants to do it in the light. He's planning to run for mayor. I don't know how he's gonna be out all night as Green Arrow and then up all day as the mayor, but these people lead crazy lives, right?
Meanwhile, Felicity is CEO of Palmer Industries and as soon as she gets back, they task her with firing multiple people. She's devastated and eventually calls a stop to it. She hires everyone back that she fired claiming some genius in the marketing (?) department has a plan to save the company, but they need all hands on deck to do it. The board tells them they have to make a presentation about it in six months. Felicity has no ideas, but is just betting the other guy does. I think it's plausible, right?
Does Felicity ever get a codename? (Don't tell me.) I hope is something adorable. She deserves nothing less.
