Friday Night Lights 4X9: The Lights in Carroll Park

I'm gonna be so pissed if the story going forward is that Becky decides to have this baby and Tim decides to raise it as his own. I can totally see them doing that, and so don't want it to happen.

Anyway, most of this episode is about getting some help to Carroll Park after Eric goes there looking for Tinker, and a 12 year old gets shot while he's there. Eric, realizing a lot of his players live in the area, tries to make the park safer for them to hang out in. Eventually, they organize a football game between the Lions and the kids who live in the neighborhood. Also, since when can Landry throw the football like that?

Glenn apologizes to Eric for kissing Tami (who didn't actually know, oops). Eric dealt with it pretty well though. However, I do think that Glenn made it sound worse than it was. He literally barely touched her before she pushed him away. I don't even think that qualifies as a kiss. It doesn't change anything, but I think Eric might be thinking something worse happened.

Julie's storylines still bore me. She working at Habitat for Humanity. Her boss (maybe?) asked her out, but she said she just want s to kiss and have no strings.

Jess' dad hired Vince after Eric asked him to. He made it very clear that if he spends any time with Jess, he'll get fired. Vince agrees. But still finds time to do some flirting with her. He's on his way out as Landry is on his way in and he won't talk to Landry. Later, Landry clears the air and things seem okay between them. Also, while at the restaurant, some of Vince's former friends come trying to get free food in their stolen car. Vince tells them no and there's a bit of an altercation. But Big Mary comes out and breaks it up. He also tells Vince he's got a lot more going for him then those kids do.

Also, that ex- gang member turned community leader (or whatever his title is) was the kid from The Wire. That was driving me crazy!

Comments

He is the craziest human. I mentioned to my husband about how much of an awkward character he is in this show, and he was like, I've seen him in a dozen things- and he's a dozen different people. Maybe he's the greatest actor (and football player) ever. Lol.

Dana Licciardello

Jesse Plemons (the actor that played Landry) was actually really good at football which explains why Landry was able to throw the football so well
