Outlander 5X8: Famous Last Words

Anyway, we're dealing with a psychologically traumatized Roger. He's not speaking. He's not engaging. Both Brianna and Claire are trying to help him work through it, but he's not really receptive.
Ian shows back up. Yay! But he's super quiet and not much like the Ian we used to know. It's obvious something is bothering him, but it's well into the episode when we finally find out.
After realizing he hung the wrong man, Tryon sent over 5,000 acres of land as an apology. Ian goes with Roger to map it out (or whatever they're doing) and finds Ian trying to kill himself. The two of them get into an argument about it, and ultimately, both men get some comfort out out this.
When they get back, Roger starts speaking again much to Brianna's delight. And my indifference. Lol.
