The Vampire Diaries 1X10: The Turning Point

It took me way, way too long to remember that they covered this up. I'd appreciate if you ignore my screaming about it for the first half of this episode. 😳
The sheriff really has no idea that Damon is a vampire. (Also, we really need some kind of vampire test in this town). After Logan 'kidnaps' Caroline to piss off her mom, Damon and Stefan save her. But after Logan tells Damon that he can still save Katherine, Damon lets him get away.
BUT, then history teacher (I really have to learn his name) shows up and stakes him. He obviously knows about vampires. He probably is one, but still no confirmation.
And what the hell was going on with the mayor trying to get his son to fight with Jeremy? Is it my wishful thinking that father and son are werewolves? Or did I really just make way too much out of a long hold on a full moon?
Elena tells Stefan she loves him, and that seems to be the thing that breaks him. He takes a moment and then rushes toward her. They kiss for awhile and she leads him upstairs to have sex. Afterwards you know they are just too happy. So of course, Elena has to find the picture of Katherine. And of course, she needs to just run away instead of actually talking to Stefan about it (because, hello, TV). On her way home, she hits...something (My money's on werewolf) and flips her car before getting trapped as the...something advances on her.
