9-1-1 2X9: Hen Begins

This was not my favorite episode. But I think that's mostly because we were missing a bunch of our friends, AND we had to endure 3/4 of this episode with people being mean to Hen. That said, this was a lovely episode, but so not fun to watch.
I didn't realize that Hen and Chim go this far back. It was so nice to see her have at least one ally at the station. Thankfully, Athena realized really quickly what Hen was going through and offered her some refuge.
Also, fuck that captain. And I really mean it. Not just because he was a dick to Hen, but because he actively was going to let people die because Hen found evidence! Ugh. I hate him so much. But, it was a really nice contrast to see how lovely Bobby is a captain. (And no, I actually don't think this is my Bobby bias coming through- I think he is just objectively a better captain).
Ooh! And the vindication when that asshole was fired! Only made better by the fact that all the people in the station complained about him and went to bat for Hen.

yay you reached your first real begins episode! the bobby backstory one from s1 is not fully a begins but his next one is called bobby begins again so it’s still kinda one. every main character gets their own throughout the series and they are always so special and important for character building. and you will cry at every single one. my personal favorite being chimney begins.
