I agree, I think Papa has convinced himself that his possessives and obsessiveness of the kids is parental love. Playing god to the point of having them call him Papa. I am glad that El said goodbye with no release of his guilt but also not being violent. It was a very mature, real reaction. Also, Journey sounding so eerie is AMAZING! Loved that.

I agree that he *thinks* he loves her but in the end he saw her as a possession and something that benefited him. He thought he was justified until the very end and I don't think it occurred to him that anyone would ever think otherwise.

There is a link to a time lapse video of them doing his makeup. I remember seeing a picture on Instagram of him sitting in the makeup chair drinking Starbucks. After seeing that, he wasn’t as scary for me.

2024-11-16 06:29:51 +0000 UTCMillie really knocks it out of the park this entire episode. One thing I don't see a lot of people talk about is the change in the cadence of her voice. That last goodbye is so layered. She just for the slightest moment speaks with the same delayed cadence that El did in season one. Perhaps giving Brenner some comfort in his last moment while also not letting him have any kind of ownership over the person she has become since escaping his captivity. It's such a subtle thing but so easily highlights the effect he had on her.

Told they are different, and wrong...and treated like outcasts by those who profess to be believers in love. Bigotry can be very subtle, yet so very hard to deal with for those it is leveled against. Please try to treat all humans equally...love is love. The Four Horseman (beasts) of the Apocalypse written by John in the bible could be what you were thinking of...... they are Conquest, War, Famine, and Death.

2024-11-16 03:34:36 +0000 UTCI think ultimately he did love her (in his own terrible way) and it could be a genuine moment from him, but I am glad el didn't forgive him. I definitely agree, forcing sympathy for a dying person is so overdone and almost never works

So many times it feels like they show sympathy for people who were horrible only because they are dying, negating everything they did to that person.

And a glimpse of Mike the empath retuning lol after his absence this season 🤣
