Weekly Progress #9

This Week's Finished Projects

So I managed to finish two projects this week. One was the next Overwatch animation “Torbjorn Hates Omnics.” As mentioned in last week's post, the only thing I needed to do for this video take care of lighting, rendering, and editing the video. Other than that, the project was fairly straight forward. I anticipate that I will release the video on December 30th, making it the last video for the year. Here are some screenshots from the video.

In an unexpected twist, I finished the second the Gameindustri Drama video! To be honest, the project wasn't too tough. In fact, the toughest part about it was animating Plutia's scene as it's the longest scene in the video. The interesting thing about that scene is that I asked my friend, NeppedWaifu if I could use the Iris Heart skin he used for his “Five Nights At Plutie's” video for this animation. I scheduled the video for Jan 6th, though its release date might be pushed back depending on if I decided to work on the 2017 “Waifu Battle” video. Not only did I include screenshots from the video, but you can watch me work on that scene in the stream VOD I uploaded to the channel.

This Week's Ongoing Projects

A lot of the ongoing projects this week were focused on script writing and getting VAs for several projects I'm working on. The only ongoing project I did any animation for is the Roast video. I animated the final line Rinachan gave me using the Link and Maggie models from SFM. 

I did get most of my VAs for the next channel trailer project. Thus far, Prozd, Nowacking, and GaoGaiKingVA will all be lending their voices. I anticipate that I will be livestreaming myself animating Gao's and Prozd's lines during Oct 16th's stream. 

I also finished the script for “Mercy's UN Interview,” which will be very focused on poking fun at some of the conspiracies that happened during the final years of Overwatch as well as a few “fan” jokes. Obviously, I will be asking my friend, Deadjosey to voice Mercy as she voiced her in several Overwatch comic dubs. Finally, since SeigiVA did a bang up job voicing Genji in the Torbjorn video, I plan on asking him again to voice Genji. Though I also asked him to voice a few of the roasts for me, so it won't happen for a while.

I got all but one line for the next Hyperdimension Neptunia parody that will focus on Plutia. The only concern I have with the project is scheduling. Since I finished the next Gameindustri Drama video, I don't want to schedule the Plutia video too close to the Gameindustri Drama video. Typically, I don't want to make fun of the same video game/anime in the same month as I feel like it'll make the channel look and feel stale after a while.

Another script I finished was the next DBZ animation on the channel that will focus on Goku's family life. I came up with the idea after my friend, Thatdemo123, told me he plans on releasing a Gohan model pack very soon. Though I finished the script for this video, I'm running into difficulties finding the right actor for Gohan. See, Gohan in the video smokes a lot since Chi-Chi does some... messed up stuff in the video. To make it sound like Gohan smokes a lot, I will be looking for voice actors that can do a Filthy Frank type of impression or someone that can do a deep raspy voice. I most likely will commission Yourtextspoken to get the job done.

One of our new Patrons also asked me to do an animation involving Yuno Gasai. The problem is that the only good models of Yuno is a MMD model. I asked my friend, Mirabeau Studios to see if he can port it to SFM. I will talk to him again this weekend if not next week to see if he's making on progress on that.

Since a lot of my projects are waiting on getting voice lines, I will be focusing on animating the Roast video because we're getting closer to Thanksgiving. I only have 4 roasts left that need voice actors and worked on 4 out of the 15 roasts. Though the roasts are very short, I still have to get them out of the way.

This Week's New Ideas
I did come up with two new ideas. The first idea is a Pokemon parody which I came up with after hearing Ash not only lost a League Championship but also rejected the one girl everyone thought he would pair up with in that season. Although I have not written the script for the Ash video yet, I do know that I want the main focus to be Ash losing the fights on purpose. Though I didn't think a Pokemon parody was possible due to the lack of any good Ash models, Lt. Eddy did give me his Red model from his Game Grumps Academy animation which I then modified to look like Ash. I'm going to start typing out the script sometime next week if not before.

A big concern I have about the channel recently is the influx of anime parodies. I want to try to come up with more video game parodies to try to balance that out . One such parody I thought of involves Solid Snake living his life in a retirement home and Raiden coming to visit him. Like the Pokemon parody, I did not type out a script for this video yet. 

The final new idea I have is this year's "A Weeaboo Christmas" special. I'm trying to come up with different theme compared to last year's Christmas special. The only theme I can come up with is Santa Claus angering a little kid for not being able to deliever several cancelled anime.

Patreon Upgrades
Hopefully, I will be making an announcement about the $15 and $25 reward tiers that I will be adding to the Patreon. At the moment, the $15 reward tier will allow you to request 1-5s loopable gifs while the $25 reward tier will allow you to request 15 second animations from me. Finally, I'm still on the fence about whether or not to implement a Discord server for the channel. This stems from the stuff that occurred with the Steam group I setup several months ago as I'm afraid it'll cause people to not get along. I'm still thinking about it, and wouldn't mind hearing you guys opinion on it.
