Weekly Progress #3

This Week's Finished Projects

Managed to finish two projects this week. I'll first talk about the Yugioh one. As I stated in last week's post, the video is somewhat of a parody of the Tmartn  situation. I'm not going to lie, this project was a pain in the ass to work on since animating Yugi was just stressful. The hand controls were reversed. If I lowered Yugi's pelvis too much, then the legs will completely rotate, and the finger bones were difficult to bend without making his fingers look unnatural. Until I can get a better Yugi/Yami model to work with, this will be the only Yugioh video on the channel. That said, it's finally done! I scheduled this animation for November 18th since when I scheduled the 5000 milestone video, it pushed the weekly
upload schedule by a week. Here are some screenshots from the video

The one project I didn't expect to finish this week was this year's Halloween Special. But one of the actors that I had difficulty trying to reach last week finally gave me his lines.  Originally I wanted to have Litterbot to voice the Jigsawish character, but I gotta say that Gianni did an amazing job voicing the character. Although ALL the actors for this project did a phenomenal job voicing their characters, Gianni gave one of the most menacing performances I've ever heard. Though I did have some lighting issues for one of the characters near the end, the project was very straight forward. In fact, thanks the blue lighting I used in the video, it'll definitely give that first Saw movie feel to the video. I truly think that this will be one of the best Weeaboo Halloween specials as I think it perfectly balances being creepy and funny at the same time. A Weeaboo Halloween 2016 will come out October 28th. Though all of my videos on the channel will be pushed back a week, this is the only video, at the moment, that will not be pushed back since I want this video to come out before Halloween. For now, here are some screenshots from the video.

This Week's Ongoing Projects

The biggest project I worked on this week is the collection of review skits for my Senran Kagura: Estival Versus review. Normally, I would be done with the review skits by now, but I failed to realize that this review's animated skits are almost 4 minutes long! This is because this review is the true start of the "Trapped In Corey's Basement" story arc. Hell, the scene that officially launches this arc is 2 minutes long! But I finished animating all the scenes last Wednesday. All I got to do is grab some gameplay from Senran Kagura Estival Versus, which I was supposed to do last week, but I thought it would be more efficient to finish the skits first before getting the gameplay footage. Apparently, I was correct since it took 12 hours for me to render Corey's scene for the review. By the time this post is released I will be rendering the main apartment scenes. I should finish the review before next Saturday. For now, here are some more scenes from that review.

As for the other projects? Until I finish my Senran Kagura review and my Bad Jojokes entry/opening, I won't work on my Trunks video. Also, I'm still waiting on one voice actor's line for my Torbjorn video. Apparently, she's getting ready to start high school and trying to manage her schedule which is totally understandable. I'll contact her again next week to see if she can lend her Widowmaker's voice for the project. If she can't,  then I'll commission the voice actress who voiced Widowmaker in my past videos.

Since October's videos are done, and I'm only two videos away from finishing November, I decided that after I get the two previously mentioned projects out of the way, I'll start immediately working on the Thanksgiving Roast 2016 video. Unlike my other animations, this might take some time to finish since I am animating 15 different roasts. So I'm going to work on some roasts at a time while I work on my other animations. But I'm fairly confident I'll finish the video way before the November 24th deadline.

This Week's New Ideas

To my surprise, everyone wants more of last week's #Gameindustri_Drama videos. I contacted Lt. Eddy and said he'll be down doing another one. I'm currently trying to research some Youtube/Twitch drama I could make fun of for the video. Currently, I'm thinking about making fun of  Brittany Venti, SSSniperwolf, Dramaalert, and Pewdiepie's "Don't Come To My House" video. People were also asking why Vert wasn't in the video, so I'm going to make sure to include her in this one. I also want to make fun of these diss tracks that been appearing lately on Youtube, but I dunno if I can write one. Finally, I want this video to be more of a Scarce News parody so I'm revisiting past Scarce videos to pick up more of his mannerisms and classic lines. If I do start the video, then I want to schedule it for December since the Vert video got pushed back to November due to the subscriber video. In other words, I don't want to put too many Neptunia videos in a month.

I also realized that through October and November, a lot of the videos on the channel will be mostly anime parodies. So the core focus for December is coming up with more parodies focused on video games. I thought of two animations involving Amy from the Sonic series and Samus Aran from the Metroid series. However, I don't have complete story ideas for the videos; just the topics.

I did ask Plasterbin's permission to animate a music video for her song Modal Shangai and gave me the go-ahead to do it. For now, I want it to be a Portal SFM as well since I think it'll be hilarious having Chell singing about her relationship with the Companion Cube. Although the current rig for the HWM version of Chell doesn't work for some reason, I did use auto rigger to create my own. I dunno when I'll start work on the video, but I'm currently thinking of all the possible scenes for the music video.

Possible Upcoming Patron Upgrades

One of the things I failed to take into account for this Patreon is the fact that the channel does monthly reviews and collabs as well. For now, like the animations, I will release the reviews and collabs to $5+ Patrons as soon as they are done if not a week before its release. Unlike the animations, I do not have a backlog of these reviews and collabs, so sometimes I schedule these videos a mere couple of days before its release.  I'm also thinking about allowing all Patrons to enter a raffle where they can request any game or anime for me to review or a top 10 list as long as the company isn't a complete asshole about fair use (e.g. Nintendo, Konami, Toyko Animation, etc.). Currently, I'm thinking these reviews/top 10 lists should come out every 3-4 months since that will mean less stress for my schedule. I'll make an official announcement about it in a channel update video that will also cover my upcoming livestream on my Saxxy's entry.

Well, that's all I got for you guys today! Thank you guys for the continued support and I hope you have a wonderful day or night!
