I also felt like Soujyurou is a lot more mysterious than we give him credit for, as is shown by his chat with Alice in this episode. Not to mention his background of coming from the mountains to the city like why did he go there, a murder in the mountains, a dead relative or what? There must be a big reason. We also learn more about the magic association and how mages work here moreso than Fate Stay Night which is a nice detail. I don't think they ever spell out how mages operate that much in Fate Stay Night or maybe they did but it just flew over my head, which might mean it might be a good time for a re-read lol.
