Wow!! Welcome to all the new Newsroom members!!

Really psyched to have you all here. Part of the purpose of the Newsroom is to have a smaller community where we can bounce around ideas for the channel.

So in that spirit, we’re looking to do a story like Bermuda Triangle or Flat Earth - is there a conspiracy you've followed for a while that you’d love a deep dive on?

Comments

Like people's sanity? Or my own! HAHA! :)

STEPHEN INGRAM

+ Good one

Harris Ananiadis

Ive been always thinking that the flat earth thing started just to make people to rethink what they already know. I mean it does push you to question things.

Harris Ananiadis

Hey Johnny, check out the doco Zeitgeist on YouTube. Pretty interesting stuff.

Marsha Emily Twigg

Conspiracy theories for most imho come from a mental disorder. Personally will like to explore that, ie Qanon, lunar landing, 911, etc the core imho is mental distress. Proving them wrong is pointless, finding a way to dialogue across their issue is the hardest.

David Wright

the staged moon landing--especially since artemis just launched

Ian Jacobson

A deep dive into how The Great Reset got in the hands of conspiracy theorists would be both fascinating and timely.

Dyllan Tyrril

I would love the conspiracy theory that our whole society (especially food) is ran by only a handful of conglomerates. Sort of is true and really sets the stage of why economic monoculturalism (think strip malls and suburbs) is so abundant in western societies especially in the United States….

Christopher Pickett

I'm curious to see what you could put together on regional/cultural superstitions and how they play a role in modern international relations. Are there any borders or geographical subdivisions attributable in-part to longstanding superstitions? I saw a video a while back about how the buildings in Hong Kong are built with feng shui in mind. Has feng shui been applied to China's internal and external policies and legal frameworks?

Evan Christensen

+1 this one!!!

Evan Christensen

We're working on one, thank you for sharing your concerns and know that reporting on a story like this will likely take a couple months but it is in progress.

Johnny Harris

There's a lot of US state boundary stories that would make for great videos. For example, Carter Lake, IA is a unique tale, it is a portion of Iowa that extends into Omaha, NE. It's an example of a river (in this case, the Missouri) reforming after a flood in 1877, splintering the Iowa city of Council Bluffs. Those west of the river turned to crime, dog fighting, cock fighting, and other sorts of illegal gambling and opium dens as the city officials in CB wouldn't cross the river to police it. Eventually, a club called the Chez Paree would eventually open that was rumored to host members of the Chicago Outfit from time to time and even Al Capone himself. In the 1920s, the residents -- tired of paying taxes for no services -- voted to secede from Council Bluffs as CB was putting in new water and sewer lines everywhere *BUT* in Carter Lake. A few wanted to join Omaha, in Nebraska, but they didn't want to provide sewer and water services either, so Carter Lake incorporated as their own city. Eventually the crime got to be such a problem that the city of Omaha attempted to absorb Carter Lake, which was spurned by the locals. Omaha then turned to the Iowa legislature, which finally put an end to the crime. Omaha continued to try to add the city to its ranks over the ensuing decades, but the Carter Lake residents always voted it down. Finally, when the Nebraskan state authorities started to get involved, the Iowa Legislature decided to vote to reaffirm that CL was, in fact an Iowan city. To this day the citizens there proudly post a "Welcome to Iowa" sign along the main road toward the airport, confusing many people from out of town that fly in. There's also a good story that could be made about the Honey War between Missouri and Iowa, too, but I'll leave that one for you to Google. It's interesting that that the "tail" of Iowa dips down into Missouri, though, and it has been part of a border dispute between Missouri and Iowa that continues even to this day. Many other states have these interesting stories just waiting to be told and very few on Youtube have covered them.

Nick Weltha

How companies such as established Titles are swindling people with no ramifications.

Ryan Whelan

Here's a pernicious one: the Blood Libel. It's been going on for over 2,500 years and resulted in thousands of deaths. Going into the origins of the conspiracy, then and now, would be interesting in the context of our current acceptance of all things nuts.

Shlom

Masonry and the involvement in French Revolution or US independence

Luis Barbosa

Satirical conspiracy theory that Finland does not exist

Diana Kalugina

Here in Illinois, we just had a major criminal justice reform bill pass this last year, that is set to take effect Jan 1st... so that's something...

Robert Sachs

It sounds like the outrage it got in 2015 has amounted to nothing. I would be interested to hear about efforts at prison reform. The Jan 6 insurrectionists shone a spotlight on it again in recent years so it is timely.

Layne Mostyn

Agree! This would be great to cover.

Bonnie Arnold

The myth of the Loch Ness Monster or just some scottish based video

Simon Celestial

I'm traveling in Nepal at the moment and heard about the massacre of the royal family back in the mid 2000s, really sad and gory story but apparently there's a bit of a conspiracy theory that the kings brother actually orchestrated it since he happened to not be at the gathering when he should have and his wife and son survived. Mentions of the CIA/Indian intelligence service being involved too according to Wikipedia. Not sure if there's a whole video here but it's an interesting story, especially with the transition from a constitutional monarchy to true democracy in the following years

Jack Murray

This would be excellent

Rob Johnson

Area 51

Patreon Pat

As an Iranian, I’m very angered by the lack of coverage of the events in Iran for the past few months. It’d be great to do a video of how Islamic Republic was able to create a movement that led to a revolution and their corruption for the past 43 years and what led to the current protests.

Atoosa Khiabani

Yes, lol. Thank you

Andrea

Is there a members discord? Patreon is great for content distribution (and supporting people of course) but not the best for active discourse. Was just curious.

Dean

It's still there. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homan_Square_facility&ved=2ahUKEwj-0byeps37AhUnlYkEHYMQD44QFnoECAcQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1ZPUEYWVBGPN3tE-aiGifI

Robert Sachs

Hey Johnny! The very first thing that comes to my mind is "Hollow Earth Theory". I bet there are a lot of old maps and artworks depicting it.

Kinneth Torres

Speaking of Chicago, I remember seeing an article long ago about a prison "black site" where US citizens were disappeared. What ever happened to that? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/feb/24/chicago-police-detain-americans-black-site?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

Layne Mostyn

I think you met to say MI6, M16 was the name of a rifle.

Randy Philipp

Also, Joe Scott's forgotten atrocities series is really interesting. I'd like to see your take on that topic, like Biafra.

Layne Mostyn

There's a lot of back and forth on the origins of covid. Like WaPo saying one thing and epidemiologists on social media saying another. Both seem reputable so it's becoming confusing.

Layne Mostyn

I would be curious to know the origin of the flat earth theory. I usually avoid that topic as flat earthers are a crazy illogically group. Im sure it was started as a joke.

Derivious

I've been hearing this more recently too. The Dave Chappelle SNL monologue from 12. november was presented to me as something alluring to that narrative, and it's not easy finding the full 15 minute version online anymore - don't know what to read into that, but it's certainly something interesting to uncover whether it's this or that.

Torkild Dyvik Olsen

I second this one; I just got something serve up that smells really fishy to me: https://diedsuddenly.info/ I haven't watched the documentary, and I probably wont unless sources are more readily available. Their introduction "In the last 18 months, the term “Died Suddenly” has risen to the very top of “most searched” Google terms." is so easy to debunk with Google Trends it's ridiculous. I'm interested in what the incentives for doing something like this is.

Torkild Dyvik Olsen

The lost colony of Roanoke

Colin

The Netflix documentary, ancient apocalypse was pretty interesting. I guess it’s been covered pretty thoroughly but would be cool to see what u find on it

Ammon Cluff

We have a lot of this type of thinking in Texas!

Joseph & Debra Brigandi

It really depends on what part of the world you are in. Also Johnny's style is unique and would have an effect on people and including Covid is still around us and probably this winter there will be measures too

Petar Teodosiev

One on “Jews controlling Hollywood” could be interesting, I just watched Jon Stewart’s last interview on Stephen Colbert show and he makes quite a funny argument on how absurd that is. But on the other side I do see a lot more people siding with Kanye over the past weeks. So a deep dive on this in certain to be controversial but definitely quite interesting.

Andre Butturi Montoya

Sure, but I feel like this has been covered a lot already. Is this outlet really going to reach/convert that many new people?

auriferous

Covid 19 and Vaccines There are still many people who believe that vaccines contain poison, chips and so on.

Petar Teodosiev

Yeah I'm also sitting here like "...how risky you wanna get?"

dwayneotron

There's some interesting stuff around Gerhard Schröder (previous German chancellor), the Nord Stream pipelines, and the initiation of Germany's nuclear phase-out. After his term as Chancellor he became Gazprom's chairman of the Shareholders' Committee. Though the smoke hasn't settled on all this yet so I don't know if there's enough solid stuff out there on the now activity, but the 1990-2010 era isn't so hazy. Not saying any of that's definitive, but there's a lot of "oh now isn't *that* convenient" in there, which is usually a red flag.

dwayneotron

It's not that these are optional if you want to cover QAnon, it's a big topic But if you want to hear another suggestion: the Bielefeld conspiracy

Pascal Bernard

Freemasons maybe. Just about them, since there's so much in rumors around them. Also their symbolism and how it presents in the world (intentionally or unintentionally). I don't know if there's enough there or if it's interesting enough (though if it ties back to the illumanti and you want to cover that then it might justify it enough).

dwayneotron

Even the history of the "actual" illuminati (the one from the past and not the internet meme one) is pretty interesting. And it also ties into Freemasonry. Maybe I'll put that as a top-level point.

dwayneotron

Putting in a word for Jeff Epstein. Honestly, the only reason I wouldn't want you to do that is I'd be afraid for your safety haha

auriferous

This should be considered a shoo-in and discussion go back to optional topics to cover, haha

dwayneotron

and how 5G fits into it all, of course

dwayneotron

There's a good amount of information on this. The topic to start on is "SOFAR bomb" and sound channels. It gets interesting around the implementation as a distress signal for downed pilots in WWII. It's a really neat concept and I won't ruin it by trying to explain here. Extrapolating that system to the atmosphere, it turns out that "sound channel" effect exists there too. And the US gov't wanted to put mics up there to listen for Soviet nuke tests. Of course this would be highly guarded information because if the Soviets knew the Roswell wreckage was a balloon with a microphone package on it, they'd start wondering why anyone would do something so strange, and would very likely figure it out and deploy their own as a result of that information. They could use that data to tell how many nukes USA was *actually* detonating and any subterfuge would be lost. And *where* they were happening (given a system designed for it). And that was HUGE concern at the time. So hence the massive coverup with hints of "weather balloon" mixed in. Honestly there's much more to it which is why it'd make for an interesting topic. I just wanted to give some context!

dwayneotron

conspiracy theory about life and death. The possibility we are in a computer simulation, and astrophysics.

Kevin Liu

Not really "conspiracy theory" in the conventional way, but still a conspiracy theory are the ag-gag laws. Tough to navigate without people binning you into their "oh it's just a uppity vegan" brush-off but I think it's possible

dwayneotron

Normally I don't make a comment to draw attention to another person's comment, but as said above, the origin of Q is a really juicy topic that would probably do a lot of good. I wouldn't doubt it would span a few videos throughout the phases of who was "piloting" it.

dwayneotron

Putting this into a separate comment so it's not so much of a wall of text. Plus it's sort of a separate idea anyway. Lots of conspiracies around the ruins of ancient Egypt (since I was talking about pyramids). Even beyond conspiracies like what's in the chamber under the sphinx paws, to how old the sphinx is (possibly even to ancient Egypt). There is even stuff there not related to conspiracies. Like the whole "let's open it up with dynamite" phase of exploration. Or how mummies were used to make a brown paint. Or how people had mummy unwrapping parties. That's a lot to unwrap there.

dwayneotron

There might be a case for doing some more stuff in Central and South American regions. The banana republic and Panama videos were fantastic. There are a lot of conspiracies around the lost civilizations. But there's also a lot of really interesting history to be found, that has only really been touched on by conspiracy theorists, which is a shame because some of this stuff is wild. Like the red jade jaguar throne at the Chichen Itza pyramid's INNER pyramid (there are a few videos but its' really cool with how they found it and excavated it). There's so much mystery to it, too, because of how quickly the jungle took it back. And so we're still just finding stuff to this day. Might be some "low hanging" fruit to cover that would expand the world's "working knowledge" on Central and South America.

dwayneotron

After my video on your "secret formula" got a lot of traction, the conspiracy theories about YOU started pouring into the comment section, LOL. The main ones: 1. the CIA recruited you as an ex-Mormon (making you a prime target apparently) & you use your channel to push their ideology (while simultaneously criticizing them LOL??) 2. You got a ton of flack after your China/World Economic Forum sponsorship video. But it'd be interesting to look into the WEC as an organization because so many people see it as basically the Illuminati.

David Mora

The various "hums" heard in places around the world. Like the Taos Hum. Would be neat to look at the geography and try and find similarities.

Brad Anderson

I would love to see your take on the illuminati.

Ara Kevonian

Hi Johnny, thank you for the welcome. I sent you a message with more info. I have a passion project and it is widely underreported. It has to do with corruption around CPS and related agencies: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/why-familycps-courts-target-fit-parents-why-the_b_59cf1dc2e4b034ae778d4ab1

Patricia Anglano

Would love to see this one debunked: the “nano tech” inside mRNA vaccines. Those microscope images of what’s inside the shots making rounds on the internet are taking advantage of some peoples fears. Also vaxxed corpses emitting a wifi signal. That’s a great halloween story 🙃

Lin

Doesn't the Chem trails conspiracy marry with the fluoride one somehow? Maybe they all come back to the Bavarian illuminati ultimately. Then there's the hollow earth and underground (lizard?) people that move around in a world spanning tunnel system. How about the number 23? That was my favourite from the Illuminatus Trilogy.

Peter Sturdee

- Balenciaga's last campaign - WWII conspiracies (what was Hitler's masterplan, Hitler on cocaine, nazis in Argentina) - The Bible or religious stuff (apocryphal texts, Codex Gigas) - Someone that could explain to me anything about Hieronymus Bosch, Nazca lines (as a Peruvian, I still don't know how were they made) - George Soros, Antifa, QAnon - Freemasons - Planned obsolescence (battery gate, for example)

Kaori

From what I’ve read, it’s mostly people saying the numbers aren’t recorded accurately, but there are more insane ones like “it never happened”, but the most logical argument I saw is the one mentioned first.

Joshua Curey

As people said QAnon but not just the tip, the roots. The protocols of the elder of Zion, the red scare and with it the rise of cultural Marxism

Pascal Bernard

Oooo! Thanks for letting me know Justin! Just joined recently... need to go through the backlog :)

STEPHEN INGRAM

-Covid vaccines having chips in them. - A secret deep state running the world.

Angie Mitropoulou

I have not followed that theory, but I find the idea of The Great Replacement to be unlikely to be as young as the Wikipedia article suggests. And the video could potentially contains a lot of maps!

Ralf Waspe

Skeptic Society has some great info on conspiracies! https://www.skeptic.com/downloads/conspiracy-theories-who-why-and-how.pdf

Tyson Gilmore

Area 51 and the Roswell incident (.:Aaaliens:.)

Ana Prieto

It's so nice to be here! There are a few that come to mind: 1. Moon landings - this is such an interesting one! Especially the 'why haven't we done it since?' question. 2. 5G - saw someone mention this and it is definitely a good shout. 3. COVID - might be too early for this one yet, but there's some REALLY interesting things coming out about the treatment (and the extent to which it was actually contributing to the deaths) and how quickly things went back to normal seemingly. 4. As Sal and I are from the UK - we HAVE to mention - Diana's Death. Would LOVE a deep dive on this.

TRIO Stories (Sal & Bart)

Maybe do one on GMOs.

Madison Crater

5G. There are several published papers on “health hazards” caused by 5g and links between 5g and Covid-19. It would be interesting to dive into the scientists who write these dubious articles and the peers who review them

mattias akke

Are pigeons created by governments to spy on their people? - not bullshiting here literally this is doing the rounds in Guernsey (Channel Islands)

Tim Siepman

I always been curious about the Chemtrails conspiracy

Christophe Duchesne-Ashworth

Is MSG a conspiracy theory?

Royce Hare

Bohemian Grove.

Rob Marriage

He has a flat earth video! It’s great

Justin Case

Jordan’s suspension would be cool!

Justin Case

He did a video on flat earth!

Justin Case

Can't choose a conspiracy theory, too many to choose from, but I recommend a book by Rob Brotherton called Suspicious Minds which deals with the psychology of conspiracy theories. It's a book resulting from his PhD on the subject. Really enlightening

Dom Thorrington

Qanon Also why do people think democrats are cannibalistic pedophiles?

Abhishek Sharma

The Beatles’ conspiracy states that the real Paul McCartney died in a car accident the late 60s, and it was covered by M16

Andrea

-Qanon: I heard q is posting again. -Trump won the election -vaccines

Kevin Williams

Hello It may not be super interessant and intelligent but why not one about Atlantis and one about the titanic

Carina Neves

Idk if this is an actual conspiracy. But when I was in college we had today take US history. And there were some glossed over facts in history that tell of a labor uprising by a party called the knights of labor. They were completely inclusive, allowing block people, women, and literally any job that was being threatened by industrialization. Then on one of their largest rally’s a bomb went off and the media pointed at the Knights of labor. The other labor party was a astroturf party funded by the industrial titans of the time. Their membership was exclusive to white men. They replaced the knights of labor and did two things in their entire existence. Created the 40-hour work week and a static minimum wage. The conspiracy I want you to look into is how government and private businesses in the US are changing history books and education to fit capitalistic goals.

Sam Patel

The sinking of the Lusitania.

Jimmy Naughton

This could be a fun one. Light-hearted... but also a possibly hopeful window into the younger generation's awareness of the current media landscape, and hopefully their strength against silly conspiracy junk?

@DaveRizz

Pan am flight 914 Lizard people Illuminati Handful of people control the entire world 9/11 carried out by US secret intelligence

Shelina Poonja

Flat Earth, 9/11, vaccines… Anything that would help understand the brain of a conspiracist and stay immune to their fear based stories.

Pavlina Camp

I remember looking into pizzagate and this whole child exploitation thing and then it went into people eating babies and weird worshipping an owl statue. It went from something plausible being tied into something with Epstein to something very horror movie like and not sure what's all BS after that

Mike

The mob still runs Chicago... also - Michael Jordan's first "retirement" was really a secret suspension for gambling...

Robert Sachs

9/11 Conspiracy being a inside job. Good video on YT already on it. https://youtu.be/xEZAXFbAnbA

How about the Birds aren't real movement?

Oliver Ames

Cody Moore

Yeah it would be cool to discuss the larger implications of the space race as well and role of government propaganda

Daniel Anugerah

Not sure if its still theory or if it has been proven but Project MKUltra

Nadim Z.

Hey Johnny, Mike here from 🇿🇦 SA. Really glad I joined your patreon. Love your work and how the team has expanded. QAnon and the lizard people?

Michael Appel

I’ve never understood what evidence Holocaust deniers point to

Frank Smith

Flat Earth always boggles my mind! Sure, in 1200, it *might* have seemed reasonable, but *now*? I'd go with Blakes idea... the Illuminati. I mean if they *are* controlling the US govt, they need to hire some fresh people ;)

STEPHEN INGRAM

Bob Lazar and Area 51. Dude claimed to work on technology that didn’t come from this planet

soc loz

Always wanted to know more about the Free Masons/illuminati or more generally the train of thought that there’s a secret organization that really controls the U.S. government

Blake Henry

The fake moon landing conspiracy is always an interesting one!
