Greetings,
well, that wasn't the best week for making progress on the game. This week was just way too busy and I had barely time to do stuff for the game and on top of that I had so much crashs and problems with DAZ that was really frustrating.
Crashes over crashes
The first issue was more or less preventable... I had an issue where I posed an animation for over 2 hours, being in the zone and obviously keep forgetting to save interim results and as you could guess... my application crashed, the progress was lost and couldn't be restored. In a week where I didn't had much time anyway, that's even more annoying. However, that was my fault and I hope I'll keep in mind to save more frequently while posing the other animations.
Next problem were disappearing key-frames between saves and misinterpretation by DAZ Studio of copied kay-frames that cause massive mesh-distortion and memory leaks which then again caused crashes...
Next thing, it seams like Otoy have picked up the plugin again and tries to update the Octane Render Plugin. A few 'new' features and a few new bug fixes were implemented. I'm currently testing it, but it already seems to have a few problems with rendering animations and a disconnection of parameter settings for the cameras between octane's render and parameter settings. So to speak... I probably need more workarounds.
In summary... I wanted to, at least, pose a few animations this weekend but have managed to setup only one, because of all this problems...
Well, let's see if animation batch rendering works...
Secrets
There will be 3 or 4 secrets images in this update again. At least I managed to finish 2 of them this week. One took a bit more effort than others but I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Plan for coming week
Depending on my tests with rendering animations today / tomorrow, I will either start posing the rest of the animations if the batch-render test is successful, otherwise I'll finish rendering the few left-over small scenes and the static images of the last big scene and will look if I reduce the count of the animations if I really have to render each frame hand by hand...
