[Episode Canopus] Progress Update VII

Greetings,

this week I worked on a new location, a new engine feature, some bug-fixes, more renders and osanaiko helped me with the script-editing.

New Location

For a scene in the next update I needed a gym. I was thinking about modeling my own, but I already need long enough for the update anyway. So I decided to look around for some assets I could use to speed up the process. Too my surprise I found a nice sci-fi gym environment for Daz that I actually like that comes not only with the room but many props as well. I changed some props and re-shaded everything for octane and switched some textures too make it fit in with the rest of my environments. 

New feature and bug fixes

I implemented a new feature, auto-play. It will be trigger-able by a shortcut ('a') and a little icon in-game. The feature itself gave me quite some headaches in certain scenarios and took longer to implement than I thought to be honest. It still needs some testing to validate each edge case but at the moment I think it works quite fine.

I also fixed some bugs osanaiko found while editing the script.

Script-editing and more renders

Over the last weeks I added most of the currently rendered and edited images to the dialog and see how they fit together. Along that I added some dialog lines and changed a few lines. Osanaiko picked up the editing and corrected and enhanced the dialog and gave some feedback. Thanks for that!

This week I mostly rendered images for smaller segments of the chapter. I already rendered a few images of the gym scene this week and will continue over the coming week.

What's next

Like I said before, I'll continue rendering with focus on the gym scene. I also want to change the character configuration a little bit to make it more user-friendly.
