Weekly Inquiry 11: Simply too complex

Its being one of those tales that get a longer than what you originally had in mind, perhaps because the sci-fi theme, and that made me wonder.
Do you people prefer complex stories or simple one?
I know that most people will stand in a middle point because depends of the tale (I think the same) and that’s probably the option that will get more votes, but it still sounded like an intriguing/interesting question to wonder about. XP

More than length the question is about... heeem... convolution? You know, the difference between "she transformed because she was sad" or "she transformed by a complex ritual that we see step by a step". XP
