Frozen Time cover reveal

I'm still finishing up the story, but I have the cover for Frozen Time all done!  I wanted a different feel of a cover for this one compared to most of my other ones, which are typically dark in color, and I also wanted a fairly simple concept to the layout -- and I think my cover designer delivered!

I will wish you luck with that. Deadlines can be problematic to deal with at times.

You do raise some good points; it depends on whether I can get any of it changed before I publish. I'll have to see about both those changes with my cover designer :)

Normally I'm much better with details like that, though looking at the cover again the spiral could use some tweaking for where the colors are at as portions of it are difficult to see against the pocket-watch behind it. Or maybe give it a thin outline that uses the same colors but reverses the placements. Sure, it would give the effect of making the spiral seem to have an inconsistent width unless someone looks closely, but would that really be a bad thing here? It would help give the impression of that magic 'distorting' something and would flow into the theme of the book better.

No worries! I couldn't remember off the top of my head, either, and had to look again :)

Agh, you're right. I just went and looked for it and you did call it a bluish color for the Chronomancy. Goes to show how late it was getting on me that I had more of a purplish color stuck in my head for some reason. I'm not even sure where the thought of that color came from either, as it isn't like some form of time magic is all that common in works of fiction. Even when it is used and different types of magic get different colors it tends to get either red or blue, sometimes both depending on how it is affecting time. Then again, maybe that's where I got the purple from, red plus blue does equal purple, but it still doesn't make much sense how I got confused.

That is a very good point about the Greater Temporal Foxes; they were more of a silvery white color, while that is definitely an arctic fox! I'll see if my cover designer has time to make some changes before I publish, but she may not because she's already working on another cover for a different author. As for the spiral arrow, I believe that the time magic the Chronomancer uses is blue, but I will double-check to see if I may have colored it purple in the book. I'm glad you like the rest -- I'm very excited for the different look to this, as I'm hoping it will stand out from my other works :)

If you've got time for some tweaks to it there are two tweaks it could use. First: Change the color of the spiral arrow to reflect the sorta purple/violet color you use to describe the time magic that the Chronomancer uses. This will create a 'link' between time, magic, and that arrow that will help to strengthen the symbology. Second: Double check your description of the colors of the Greater Temporal Foxes, as that looks like a standard Arctic Fox and I thought they were supposed to have a slightly different coloring. On the other hand the fox on their does work well as is, but it would be nice for someone to look back at that and have that "Oh! That's a Greater Temporal Fox!" moment after reading the description of what they look like in the book. Aside from that it really looks great, and definitely has a slightly different feel from most of your books without clashing with the title or the content so far.
