Scribbles & Bits

-Some sketches exploring Bob and Kathleen’s relationship, particularly the couple years they stayed cohabitating after the divorce. They’re too familiar with each each other to not be honest to one another, they enjoy an easy and comfortable friendship. Kathleen straddles the line between cool and dorky, just a big goofy beaver woman (buy another bra already dumbass)

-A doodle set in the present day. Toffee spent a painfully long chunk of his life caring way too much about his father’s opinion, so he’s pretty happy to finally be in a place where he can tell his pop to eat shit (read: politely but firmly ask him to leave)

Wow that's a really good question. XD I imagine with a skirt, there's usually a hole in the back (complete with adjustable snaps/velcro for different sized tails) for critters to stick their tail through.

Can I ask a maybe silly question? How do certain clothes work for animals with big tails? I imagine for animals with small or skinny tails there's just an appropriate hole in the clothes. Do dogs that wear dresses have to be conscious about their tails so they don't flash everyone?

Aw thanks! I believe all bodies are beautiful, and that a person's weight or health does not determine their worth. Being fat is not a moral failure, it's simply a state of being. I will warn you though, I'm planning on digging into Gigi's character soon, and her story DOES feature a lot of negative body talk/bullying over weight/disordered eating. And also a discussion that I think some body positive media often skirts around- how overeating can be an act of self-harm, or a way of burying unaddressed negative feelings and thoughts. I think there's room for a lot of nuance when it comes to discussing weight. Is it bad to be fat? No. Is it unhealthy to be fat? Often, at least in the long run. Is every fat person unhealthy? No, but even if they are, they should still be treated with kindness and respect. Should fat people have their bodies policed? No. Should fat people work to lose weight? It's their life to live, though I would recommend EVERY human practice eating well and exercising. Do I, an overweight person, wish to lose weight? Yes, because losing weight makes my body and mind feel better. Am I still gonna draw fat bodies? Yep!

It makes me so happy the growth in your skill at portraying different body types in both your art and your narratives. Not that you were ever shitty about it, but I see more of your characters who are chubby without it being part of their story/something other characters tease them about and I really love that.

I’m eternally amused because I know an older couple that are my neighbors and their names are Bob and Kathy.
