The Worst Nurse
Added 2023-12-28 19:31:31 +0000 UTCA few characters are getting some design/personality updates to make them more fun to draw and write. Savannah has finally become the crusty liddl creacher she was always meant to be! Her personality, like Virgil’s, is greatly influenced by traumatic childhood events, including growing up in a shitty underfunded foster home. As an adult Savannah is combative, sardonic, and barely capable of taking care of herself, let alone taking care of her sick and injured patients. Her approach to work is that of a bored teenage retail worker, which is….not great for a nurse. Fortunately (or unfortunately), Sav works at a sketchy underfunded hospital that’s too desperate for staff to fire her over a few itty bitty cases of serious medical malpractice.

I love how… scruggnly she looks. I can’t explain but I love the sloped jaw, and the long dropped ears adding a balance to her face. She looks so mean and tired and so so GOOD. These are some of my favorite type of character designs it fits her so perfect. God I can’t wait to see art of her Jude and her and Virgil together. I love how well you can make each design look so different and unique but the characters never look out of place next to each other. They all flow together so well, personality and design wise. Her MANE is so pretty one I love it even if it’s probably dusty and dirty dragging on the floor all day. *** also love the addition of the oral habit, idk if it’s purposely related to her adhd but I to have an oral/chewing habit due to my audhd. As a kid my favorite thing to chew was those cheap rubber wrist bands that every little origination passes out when they visited your school or what not. As an adult I try to substitute with gum but still unfortunately have the bad habit of chewing on my nails . It’s rough out here

(genuinely interested in seeing the character interactions w her revised personality !!! ) also gosh as someone stuck in "this job is awful for me and im in burnout hell but is it even possible to leave" but its a caretaking position i resonate so hard w her lol . i keep myself honest on doing good work for the sake of the ppl i take care of's wellbeing but we do Not have Support financially or structurally from higher up to maintain that so its just coming out of my own cup & theres soooo many ppl i work w who do phone it in & i like...get it. (i dont agree w it bc it hurts ppl but the blame is rlly rlly w the system) I feel like the shit you end up seeing from a system thats set up to fail like that can be so traumatizing too, i cant imagine that helps w her emotional detachment cause it does seem like its a long held survival method for her from childhood esp in foster care....and she doesnt have a full cup to pour from (not excusing it lol but appreciate that for her writting + motivation) anyway love her + understand her. yucky woman
