War Of Attrition

"She was never yours, do you understand? Never, not for a moment. You've no right to call yourself her father, false prince. You wouldn't even know the meaning of the word."

sketchy sketch before bed, i'll probably redo it later cuz i really do wanna draw these two interacting

Nah. I had the idea that sometimes, when unicorns are undergoing intense emotion, their magic takes on the form of an element entirely unique to them. Their magic aura comes to resemble churning water, crackling lightning, etc. In Fancy’s case, it’s fire. He is very, VERY angry.

Lopoddity

Ooh does Fancy Pants have some sort of mind manipulation magic? o0o

Lory

The raw emotions are so well captured.

This might be me reading too much into it but I LOVE that Blueblood’s eyes aren’t meeting Fancy’s. Fancy’s looking directly at him while Blueblood’s eyes seem almost glazed over. The man just has zero fight left in him

Gosh I cannot wait to see how you write this conflict out. You always do amazing with interpersonal relationships, be them good or bad! It’s always so real and feels tangible in a sense. :)

I was going to draw some fluff, but I decided to take the day to relax and read. There is some fluff incoming, tho. This drawing is meant to be part of a series exploring Fancy and Vogue’s relationship. We’ve gotten lots of insight into Blueblood’s angst, but not much into the bond shared between Vogue and her actual dad. Fancy is one of Vogue’s favorite ponies in the world, and vice versa, Blueblood’s intrusion into their lives is seen as a threat. Fancy is PISSED at Blueblood making Vogue cry and splintering his family AGAIN

Lopoddity

To be fair, Blueblood kinda has a habit of trying to steal away Fancy’s family (first Fleur, then later Vogue). BB’s whole “woe is I for not being allowed to be with my child” thing is pretty insulting to Fancy, who (alongside Fleur) has put in the actual work of raising and loving Vogue. All Blueblood has done is spoil Vogue’s birthday with a truth they all promised to never hurt Vogue with. It’s easy to forget that Blueblood is an unreliable narrator. While in his own view he’s the victim, from several other characters’ perspectives, Blueblood is very much a villain.

Lopoddity

yup yup

I cannot get over the way you drew Blueblood here, his expression is such a raw exhaustion in contrast to fancy pants' aggression. The fact that he's so rugged and tired looking, and his horn isn't even lit, amazing attention to detail and you can really feel their emotions!

Me, giggling to myself: teehee I wonder if lop will post something nice for fathers day --. // Me, seeing this post: well fuck didn't need my heart ig

Colbyr

Damn, Fancy is prepared to butt heads over this. Terrible puns aside, my heart wrenches for Blueblood in this one, is he even present? He just looks so abjectly defeated. How big of a stallion do you have to be to threaten someone who doesn't even look like he knows you're there?

ApofisNecros

Ooh, I wonder if this confrontation follows Blueblood's encounter with Vogue at her birthday party?

The Marvelous Mistake

Just in time for father's day!
