also, hi Smoky. Smokescreen works as a intelligence agent for the Equestrian government, but he's also on Jam's payroll more often than not. Ever since Jam figured out Smoky's unsavory secret day job, she's brought him on as a spy/bit of muscle/bodyguard. Jam is super thrilled about having her very own goon. Smoky is less thrilled about the arrangement, but he's well compensated, and it didn't exactly take much convincing to rope him into terrorizing Filthy Rich. After all, Barnyard Bargains could put Sugarcube Corner and BonBon's candy shop out of business, and then where would Smoky get his precious sweets? Barnyard Bargains?? Sorry Fil but u gotta die
(ps. they're not out to actually kill Filthy. Although if a certain old businesspony were to accidentally be terrified into having a heart attack, Jam wouldn't exactly complain....)

2021-02-20 19:02:08 +0000 UTCI’m really enjoying it. MLP has felt like a dying fandom even before the finale aired, with so many artists moving on to new interests. Nextgen stuff in particular was dying down. My own interest was waning, since there was so little new content out there. But now it’s kinda like we’re in a mini-renaissance of pony art, except better this time cuz many of the fandom creeps/hardcore bronies have moved on, and the space has been taken over by more casual (and often LGBT+) fans that are telling fresher, bolder stories. I love to see it! Seeing others create inspires me to keep creating :)

Jam and Smoky don’t believe they’re anything alike-Smoky thinks Jam is a smarmy chatterbox, Jam thinks he’s a semi-creepy bore...but they actually have a LOT in common. A questionable sense of ethics, a love of messing with people, a vested interest in making PB sandwich smile. They also both have an arch-rival that they spend a curious amount of time thinking about (Artemis for Jam, while Smoky fixates on Montezuma, long-lost son of Ahuizotl and master jewel thief). They’re not above teasing each other about this “strictly pragmatic” interest either

They always rang as a bit flat or Pinkie-ish, very similar to PB, but you've really carved out her niche with the last few pieces you've done of her. This is gorgeous! Loving the lighting.

(I can totally see Smoky and Jam, two characters with relatively little in common, high-fiving as Filthy hightails it out in terror, Jam honest-to-god giggling and Smoky giving a single, deep, chuffing rumble of a laugh himself. It's moments like these that he remembers why he still works for Jammie, excellent pay notwithstanding.)
