Discord sleeps a lot, surprisingly. This is due to 1.) his powers, while nearly infinite, burn a shit-ton of energy, and his body and mind need time to recharge to avoid strain, 2.) he's composed of several large predators, which spend most of their time sleeping, and 3.) he is an old man. So in between sowing strife into the lives of mortals, Discord spends much of his time (anywhere between 18-20 hours a day) dozing, in a variety of strange positions and locations. Sometimes in an active volcano, sometimes atop the cushy pillow of Celestia's throne, where he'll naturally pretend to dig a little hole, circle a few times, and curl up. Celestia used to rlly fuckn hate this, but has come to secretly enjoy how it unsettles the nobles.
Twilight, comparatively, doesn't get enough sleep. She's spent far too many nights wide awake studying, pouring over lesson plans and legislation, and generally fretting over too many cups of coffee. Discord has developed a sixth sense for when Twilight is sorely in need of a nap, and takes measures to encourage her to do so. Perfectly friendly gestures, like swapping out her coffee for a cup of warm chamomile, giving a soothing wing massage, and also trying to wrangle her into bed with a lasso, like a cowboy with a furious longhorn. Results vary, but when Twilight can be coaxed to bed, she gets some of the best sleep of her life wrapped round her living body pillow. Discord very much enjoys this, he's touch-starved as fuck and likes to be held.
