Thank you! It's kind of hard to explian, maybe I'll make a process gif of it. I believe the characters have one Multiply layer clipped to them, colored medium blue. Then another clipped layer set to Overlay, it's a bright blow gradient aiming up at the characters from the light source, the moon. Then I painted on two new layers (Overlay and Add) the detailed areas of lighting, like where the moonlight is hitting the side of Cosmos' face. I use a lot of layers, there's some 40-50 in use on these piece.

2019-09-19 18:44:35 +0000 UTCI hope you don’t mind me asking, but how did you take their original color palettes to these blue toned ones? I know a lot of artists achieve that sort of effect in different ways; I tend to put a layer of blue (or whatever color my light source is) over the whole canvas and turn it to Overlay or Multiply and turn the opacity down to something like 50%. I ask because you did it SO well here; this has to be one of your most immersive and stunning pieces with some of your best lighting 😍

2019-09-18 18:04:29 +0000 UTCTo see these go from just colorful to within the nighttime sky is astonishing. When I first viewed their positions, I was reminded of the yin yang; therefore, the choice to use a black and white cookie is fabulous, in my humble opinion.
