My New Book Haul
Added 2019-09-07 01:39:05 +0000 UTCI’m FAIR at composition but I’m not great so I got a lot of books on the subject. If any of you are interested I can do a little review of each as I read them. So far “The Painter’s Secret Geometry” is fairly obtuse and is more interesting in a historical sense than useful to a modern artist. “The Simple Secret to Better Painting“ is highly readable and easy to follow. I def recommend it. I really like ”The Botanical Art Files: Composition” but it’s pretty specific. If you don’t care for botanical illustration a general composition book will serve you better.
The others I haven’t yet formed an opinion on. I’m working on really taking them to heart rather than taking a glance and tossing them on my bookshelf. :P

I LOVE Imaginative Realism! There is also one on light from from same person, breath taking and well written! I need to read them more properly, but even flicking through you pick up great knowledge that amazes you! Being more seasoned than me I'm sure you know some of it already, but they are just so interestingly written and go in depth in a good way =)
